Hanover Swim Club Masters Swimming
The Hanover Swim Club has now opened registration for our Masters’ program. As this is our first year offering this program, the registration fee is only $20, which will cover the cost of being registered with Masters Swimming Ontario and being a member of the Hanover Swim Club. This registration fee will provide you with a swimmer registration number and insurance to attend Masters Swimming Ontario swim meets. There will be regular workouts posted by our coaches on our Facebook page. We will also have members post when they will be training, so other members can meet up and workout together. This season, we will not have set practice times or regular coaching dedicated to the program.
This is our first step in running a Masters program with our club and we plan to offer improved programming in the coming years.
What is Masters Swimming?
Masters swimming is for anyone 18 and over. The program is intended to promote fitness through the sport of swimming. Masters Swimming is comprised of all levels of swimmers ranging from beginners and casual swimmers to triathletes, competitive swimmers and even former world champions. You don’t have to be the fastest, the best or even competitive to be a Masters swimmer. Masters swimming is an international sport, with participants ranging from 18 to 100+. If you chose, you can register for regional, provincial, national and even world championship swim meets.
Swimming offers a low impact activity that builds endurance, strength, and cardio-vascular fitness. This allows reduced strain on joints, while still allowing for a full body exercise.
Swim meets are optional but are a lot of fun to attend with a team!
We are very excited about the future of the Hanover Swim Club Masters program and hope that you will be part of our growing team!
See you at the pool!
