At a Glance:
Provincial Blue swimmers continue to build on skills such as endurance and stroke technique. These swimmers are fully confident in practice protocols and routines, such as activation and pace times.
Provincial Blue swimmers are comfortable with testing their limits and are able to effectively complete an age group level swim practice.
Provincial Blue athletes compete at the Provincial/ Atlantic level and are dedicated to improvement.
Swimmers may choose to make more of a commitment to swimming but alternate sports/activities are still encouraged at this stage
- Ideal age ranges are 12-14 years for girls and 13-15 years for boys.
- Swimmers at the Provincial Blue swim 7.5 hours per week. Each practice includes a mandatory 15-minute activation routine prior to pool time.
- Provincial Blue swimmers also participate in Strength and Conditioning sessions.
