2017-2018 Swim Program Levels & Costs

KBM uses the pool located at Queen's University Athletic and Recreation Centre (Queen's) and the pool located at Artillery Park Aquatic Centre (APAC) to conduct training practices.  Click here for pool info.

Introductory Programs (Ages 7-10)

Mini-Marlins 1  (once-a-week)

Full Season: $450 plus governing body fee
Half Season1: $250 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: Option for Tue or Thu 4:15-5:00pm
First Practice: Tue Sep 19 or Thu Sep 21
Pool: APAC

Description: This Mini-Marlin program is designed to introduce the skills required for all four competitive strokes. It is open to swimmers able to complete 25m of some form of freestyle, 25m of some form of backstroke, and be able to kick on a kickboard. Skills introduced will be presented in a fun and interactive learning environment with a focus on the enjoyment of swimming. Choose either the Tuesday or Thursday class. If numbers warrant we may offer at Saturday 8-9 am class (also at Artillery - this will be a mixed class with MM+ and MM swimmers)

1 Half seasons run Sep 19 - Dec 14 and Jan 6 - Apr 5

 

Mini-Marlins 1S  (once-a-week)

Full Season: $475 plus governing body fee
Half Season1: $275 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: Sat 8:00-9:00am
First Practice: Sat Sep 23
Pool: APAC

Description: Similar to the Mini-Marlins 1 program, but the practices are 1 hour instead of 45 minutes.

1 Half seasons run Sep 19 - Dec 14 and Jan 6 - Apr 5

 

Mini-Marlins 2  (twice-a-week)

Full Season: $700 plus governing body fee
Half Season2: $375 plus governing body

A post-season session including an extra 5 weeks of training and participation in our year-end meet will be available for $125

Description: Same as the MM1 program, but with 2 swims per week.

2 Half seasons run Sep 19 - Dec 14 and Jan 6 - Apr 5

 

Mini-Marlins +  (pre-competitive)

A post-season session including an extra 5 weeks of training and participation in our year-end meet will be available for $125

Description: These swimmers can look forward to racing at in-town meets 3 or 4 times in the season. Training twice a week from September to the first week of April  (with breaks corresponding to school holidays), those who are ready can register for local meets.)  If numbers warrant we may offer a Saturday 8-9 am class (also at Artillery - this will be a mixed class with MM+ and MM swimmers.

3 Half seasons run Sep 19 - Dec 14 and Jan 6 - Apr 5

 

Senior Development Programs (Ages 13+)

Senior Development 3  (three times a week)

Full Season: $1,250 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: Tue, Thu and Fri 5:00-6:00pm
First Practice: Tue Sep 19, 2017

Description: This program is designed for athletes aged 13 and over who are still developing their skills and abilities in swimming. Swimming 3 times a week, they have the opportunity but are not required, to compete at local area meets. Practices will run from September until the end of April.

 

Senior Development 4  (four times a week)

Full Season: $1,550 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: Tue, Thu, Fri 5:00-6:00pm, Sun 8:00-9:30am
First Practice: Tue Sep 19, 2017
Pool: Queen's

Description: This is the same program as the "Senior Development 3" but with additional training sessions held on Sundays. Practices will run from September until the end of April.

Junior Development

Full Season: $1,440 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: Mon & Wed 4:30-6:00pm, Fri 4:30-5:30pm

Description: Competitive athletes ages 9-13 who have demonstrated the ability and desire to train at competitive levels 4 times per week plus optional dryland. These swimmers will attend both local and regional level meets.

 

Junior Performance

Full Season: $2,240 plus governing body fee

Weekly Swim Training: Mon and Wed 3:00-4:45pm, Th6:00-7:30amFri 3:00-4:30pm,
                                 Sat 9:30-11:00am
First Practice: Wed Sep 6, 2017

Weekly Dryland Training:  If numbers warrant, mobility Wed 5:00-6:00pm at Queens starting Sept 20.

Description: Training 6 to 11 times a week, swimming is a high priority for swimmers in this group. In addition to planning activities around workouts and competitions, they will need to schedule "downtime" so that they can adequately recover and continue to improve.

 

Varsity / Alumni

 

Alumni - Throughout the University School Year 

Fee: $100

Description: We are pleased to offer a limited number of spots to our University age swimmers. For a flat $100 fee, swimmers can drop in at any time throughout the entire varsity season and train with KBM.  Any swimmers looking to train and compete with us should communicate their training and competition plans with the head coach early and often.

 

Alumni - Post-Varsity Season 

Fee: $300 (includes any and all meet entry fees)

Description: We are pleased to offer a limited number of spots to our University age swimmers. For $300, alumni swimmers can continue to train past the varsity season, with free entry into any and all meets that KBM enters during that period.  Any swimmers looking to train and compete with us should communicate their training and competition plans with the head coach early and often.
