What is Para-swimming?
Para-swimming is Swimming Canada’s fully integrated swimming program for person’s with a disability from grassroots to elite. Para-swimming combines a broad range of disabilities into three categories:

Functional Disabilities:

  • amputees, cerebral palsy/head injury, spinal cord injury/polio, dwarfism
  • Others (major joint restrictions, coordination restrictions, limb paralysis/weakness

Visual Disabilities:

  • Blindness; visually impaired

Intellectual Disabilities

Please contact us for more information about our para-swimming programs. Programs are specifically designed to meet the needs of each swimmer and match their level of ability. Lessons will normally run once or twice a week for 45 minutes per lesson for 6 to 8 weeks.  Para-swimmers have also achieved success in Club Swimming
