Coaches Reports
CONGRATULATIONS to our 70 LAC swimmers who competed in Pointe Claire. There was plenty of racing, period, and certainly plenty of tough, smart racing by our committed, determined group.

A few numbers in which everyone should take great pride:
1st - final overall rank of our LAC Girls’ team in the AA meet - way to go ladies!!
3rd - final overall rank of our LAC combined team (Girls & Boys) in the AA meet.
5th - final overall rank of our LAC combined team in the AAA meet.
380 - Personal bests achieved (inclusive of relays), which if you divide amongst 70 swimmers is better than 5 pb's per LAC swimmer...outstanding!
730 – Including prelims, finals, and relays,  the number of times a Blue & Orange cap hit the water to race against some of the best competition from across eastern Canada, and in every one of those swims our athletes raced as hard for 9th as they did for 1st, demonstrating courage, stamina and class!
4 - The size our incredible, tireless, thorough and caring team of chaperones, without whose gigantic effort exactly zero of the gigantic efforts cited above would have happened. Many sincere THANKS from the coaches, the swimmers, and the swimmers' parents to Jane Callon, Corrie Asberg Polito, April Peerless and Marybeth Goodreau. If you haven't already, and if you happen to see any or all of these 4 over the next while, you might want to thank them in person!

Great job by everyone. For a more in-depth look at some of the numbers, look in the "What's New" section under Pointe Claire Results.Special congratulations to individual club record setters Jessica Allen and Maggie MacNeil, and to the 4x200FR relay club record-setting 13/14 girls team of Menley Langham, Julia Nalywaiko, Leah Polito and Maggie MacNeil.

Congratulations to First Time Qualifiers:
And more congratulations to first time qualifiers: Holly Holden (Provincials), Menley Langham (SNC Eastern Canadians) and Julia Nalywaiko (SNC Eastern Canadians and SNC Age Group Championships).

I would like to wish everyone a great Holiday break, however you chose to enjoy it!

The 12 and Under Celebration is coming up on January 17 and 18.  If you are interested in working or mentoring in a level 2 position (i.e. other than Timing and Strokes and Turns), you should be able to sign up now.  The Meet Referee is responsible for assigning these jobs and the way to sign up is by using your OSOA.CA account.  There are instructions for doing this on the LAC site under the Officials tab.    These job requests are not guaranteed so you should make your requests as soon as you can.  This is often open weeks in advance of the meet.

It is not too late to register for the last in the current series of live Level II clinics which end on Friday.
I will be hosting a Timer and a Strokes and Turns clinic prior to the 12 and Under Celebration.  If anyone is working toward Level III and would like to teach the Level I Timekeeper and Safety Marshal Clinic, please let me know.
The next LAC hosted live clinics will not be until April/May.  The next Regional Clinics will be in March at Conestoga College.

Level II Officiating Clinics:
Clerk Of Course: Friday, December 19 – 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at CGAC, in the downstairs meeting room.
All clinics except Referee and Starter can also be taken on-line.
