Newsletter 2014-2015 Issue 24 March 10
We wish everyone a great March Break, and want you all to take a bit of time (but not too much!) to reflect on your short course season. That's right! Usually we say: "No looking in the rear view mirror!" But now is the time to evaluate what you did well, the area(s) in which you improved the most, and the area(s) in which you need to continue to apply yourself to take that next step forward.
Remember there is no such thing as an "overnight success." Improvement comes in tiny little increments each and every day. Think about being just a tiny bit better in one single thing every day in your training, and that will add up over time.
Finally, the coaches want to encourage all of you to get involved in our SWIMATHON campaign...we need new starting blocks, and we want to purchase more video equipment to help us better evaluate and impact the technical areas in all levels of the program. The monies we are able to raise through the SWIMATHON will help us realize those important program objectives.
A big thank you and well done to those of you who are already involved.

The Good Friday Pentathlon and the Hollandia Spring Invitational will be arriving before you know it. The sign-ups for senior officials for both meets are available using your OSOA.CA accounts. You can sign-up now for these jobs as long as you have qualified to do them by taking the clinic. This is a good opportunity to start working on your deck sign-offs and achieving level II official status this season.
I will be offering another series of official’s clinics between the Pentathlon and the Hollandia Spring Invitational. We are always excited to have people who are interested in trying some new jobs. There is a lot more to swimming officiating than meets the eye. Most of the officiating clinics can also be taken on-line.
