Coaches Report

CONGRATULATIONS to our 14 swimmers who raced at the 13&Under Festival in Markham, swimming to pb's in over 50% of their individual events, with first-time Festival swimmer Sonya Demidenok achieving 100% pb's, while Carter Buck (silver) and Leah Polito (Bronze) stood on the podium, and several other swimmers had top 10 finishes. We also had 4 swimmers race at the Eastern Canadian Championships in Montreal, Maggie MacNeil won 6 medals in the junior category including victories in the 50 and 100FL, and set a 15-17 and open club record in the 50BK; Sabrina Wang had 100% pb's and climbed to 5th place all-time in the 15-17 girls 100BR; Jessica Allen placed 3rd in the B final of the 50BK and Dominic Cappa had pb's in 2 of his 4 swims.

Next up are the Regional Championships in Brantford this weekend, where we will have 85 LAC'ers competing. Many of you have done some great work, so ask yourself: "Why not me?" You deserve success just as much as the swimmers beside you, so take charge of your destiny, make your fellow competitors react to you, and finish every race knowing that you couldn't have given it (as marathon swimmer Diana Nyad said in her book Find A Way) "a fingernail more." GO LAC GO!

It’s Official!

The LAC Long Course Pentathlon is on March 25.  If you have taken the clinic and are interested in working as a senior official to get some experience then please contact Bonnie Marceau at brmarceau@rogers.com.  If it is your first time doing the job and would like a mentor then please let Bonnie know.

I will be scheduling clinics in March prior to the Pentathlon.  As soon as they are scheduled sign-ups will be posted.

Officiating Opportunities:

For those who are working on moving up the ladder, or if you are going to these meets and like to be helpful, here are some non-LAC officiating opportunities.  All of these meets have people involved who help out at our meets regularly. FYI, away meets do not earn session credits but they are great experiences:
