Coaches Report

This weekend is our Hollandia Invitational - swimmers, please remember and follow these standard meet protocols: be on time, warm up well, see your coach before and after each race, stay warm and hydrated and fueled, and HAVE FUN! There’s something good in every race, something to improve on in every race, and another race coming up soon, so stay positive, stay focused and stick to the plan. This weekend's T-shirt rotation: orange on Friday, royal or blue on Saturday, and orange on Sunday. Everyone should also be wearing the team bathing cap. This is "our house", so let's show lots of spirit on the deck, and lots of pride in the water. Whether you are racing for 1st or racing for 7th, race SMART and race TOUGH! GO LAC GO!

Hollandia Invitational – May 13 – 15

There are still many volunteer positions open for the meet. Canteen is in need of people on Friday during the day and Sat Finals.  Minor officials are needed on deck for the Friday distance sessions as well as Saturday and Sunday afternoon. All LAC families are required to donate food or this event.

WOSA LC Championships Windsor

It was necessary to make some changes to team travel for the WOSA championships in Windsor the weekend of June 3 -5, due to the early warm up time on the Friday am. We will now be travelling down on the Thursday evening and will need to adjust the approximate cost to $325 for the weekend including; meals, accommodations and transportation. If you have any concerns with the arrangements please email Donna at lacmembership01@gmail.com. We are still looking for chaperones for this event, if you are interested please contact Donna.

Hotel for WOSA Champs: originally the team had a block of rooms at the Quality Suites but they are under renovations and not able to accommodate us, they did find us rooms at another hotel with free parking and breakfast. The cost per room will be $135. The new hotel is a former Days Inn, currently Sunrise Inn and soon to be Quality Inn 675 Goyeau St, Windsor, ON N9A 1H3, PH: 519-258-8411. Their booking system is now set up so please call and to book your room by May 15.

NOTICE OF LAC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The LAC Board of Directors extends an invitation to all LAC parents to attend the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the Club. The AGM will be held on Monday, June 20th, 2016 beginning at 7.00 pm at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre in the upper level meeting room. Attendance is not mandatory; however, we encourage at least one member of each swim family to attend this very informative evening and earn one session credit for doing so. New swim families will receive one session credit that may be applied next season.

Further information including a copy of the Minutes from the 2015 AGM and a proxy for 2015 is posted on the website under the Events tab.

If you have any questions please contact me at swim4life@isp.ca .

Team travel deadline: Monday June 5.

It’s Official!

Hi everyone!  I have a short and simple message this week.  Please take a look at the sign-ups for minor officials at Hollandia this weekend and help fill in the empty slots wherever you can.

We are particularly short on timers for the Friday morning distance session and the Saturday afternoon session where, presently, we cannot run the sessions.  We are also very short on timers in several other sessions where we will be struggling and are only a few cancellations away from being unable to run those sessions as well.

For first year parents, please remember that you can carry up to 5 session credits, earned this year, to next year, to make it easier to collect your requirement next season.  For everyone, if you have already collected your session credits for this season you can still help make your swimmer’s meets, events that we can be proud of, by helping to fill these gaps!

If you have any questions please contact me, Mark Lukings L.A.C. Co-Club Officials Chair at lac.coc@gmail.com
