CONGRATULATIONS to our 60 swimmers who competed at the NYAC Cup last weekend. We had 74% personal bests, with 21 swimmers achieving 100% pb's; we had over 175 13&over swims in the finals over three days; 14 swimmers collected a total of 12 gold, 8 silver and 17 bronze medals; 28 other swimmers placed in the top 10 in at least 1 event; on Sunday (the last and toughest day of the meet, and when we award LAC tattoos to those who win their heat) we had 5 consecutive heat winners in the girls 13&over 200FR; and on Sunday night at finals we improved our time from the preliminaries in 52 out of 60 races. The best part about these results - they come after only 7 weeks of work. Just wait until the championship events later in the season when we have even more purposeful practice behind us!

Special congratulations to first time Provincial Festival qualifier Hillary Bruce, and to Maggie MacNeil, who established 4 club records and was also the high point award winner in the girls 16&over category.

For the highlights from the NYAC Cup, see the "NEWS" section of the website.

Swimmers - Nothers is coming up in a few weeks.   It is our first big meet of the season in our home pool.   Make it yours by letting me know what songs you would like to hear on deck during warm-up throughout the weekend.    Please use this link to register your selections:

Thank you - Karen Campbell LAC Nothers Meet Manager 2016

The Pointe Claire Meet is now posted on the LAC website under the “events” tab. The list of qualified swimmers is available in the meet information. All swimmers attending the meet are expected to travel with the team. The cost of team travel is approximately $450 (this includes bus, hotel and food).

November spiritwear orders have now been placed, notice will be in the newsletter as the orders arrive.

We are still waiting on the parkas and warm up suits from the September and October orders, we will let you know when these have arrived.

Officials Red Shirts

Please email if you would like to order a red shirt by Friday Nov 11. The cost is $34. Sizes are XS – XXL.

Swim Canada and Swim Ontario have a new Swim Meet Dress Code Policy.  Timekeepers and Chief Timekeepers are expected to wear a white shirt (Polo or T-shirt is the preference) and black bottoms.  All other officiating positions including Judges of Strokes and Turns (Head Lane Timers, Turn Judges, and Stroke Judges) and all Level 2 positions and up are expected to wear a red polo shirt and black bottoms.

You can source these items from anywhere that you choose but to help with the red shirts we are offering the opportunity to purchase top quality red officiating shirts that will have the Swim Canada logo embroidered on them.  Choosing the Swim Canada logo allows the shirt to be used at any meet in Canada.  The shirt is from the same manufacturer that Swim Canada uses to supply meet shirts for National Level meets so it should be the exact shade of red that Swim Canada has specified.
