KMF is one acronym from leadership guru Robin Sharma's "8 Acronyms for Excellent Results":

Keep Moving Forward Study the excellent research of Angela Duckworth and you'll discover that the #1 factor that determines whether you'll become an extreme achiever or an average person comes down to one thing...'s not your IQ.'s not your looks.'s not where you live or where you've been. It's a word she calls "Grit"...your ability to persist, stay passionate and get your biggest goals done (in the face of being laughed at, bumping into obstacles and even being filled with self-doubt).  KMF is all about moving ahead--when things are easy but even more essentially, when times are hard. You show us how badly you want your dreams when you press ahead in the most difficult of times. Remember: Victims surrender to adversity while Extreme Achievers exploit it to their advantage.

The next Spiritwear order will be placed in January, forms and cheques are due by Friday January 13.

All session credits are up to date. Information on how to access your credits is available on the LAC website under the “Parent Info” tab. If you have any questions please email Donna

12 and Under Celebration: We could still use your help – We are now assessing whether the meet will be single or double ended.  Obviously if it is double ended we will need more officials than if it is single ended.  We are also having a short single ended Time Trial for 13 and Over swimmers in the evening following Saturday’s 12 and Under session. If you are interested in Senior Official job(s) at the 12 and Under Celebration or at the Time Trial, and have the clinic for that job, please contact Denise McDonald and let her know what job(s) you would like to work and when you are available.

WOSA Short Course Championship - I am the Competition Coordinator for WOSA.  I will be putting out a call to the region for senior officials early next week.  If you want to work senior official positions at WOSA and have not already done so, please let me know NOW.  I need to know the sessions that you are available and what positions you are seeking.

Clinics – As you can see on the LAC website I have scheduled 2 clinics for this week.  OnFriday, January 13, I will be teaching the Strokes and Turns Clinic from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the downstairs meeting room right at the bottom of the stairs.  On Saturday, January 14, we will have the Introduction to Swimming Officiating (Timer) clinic in the upstairs meeting room from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  I have always wondered if people would attend a Saturday evening clinic.  Well the rooms were all booked up so I am about to find out.  I hope to see you there.  It should be a lot less hectic than trying to fit a clinic in on a week night!  If you are interested in both clinics, you can attend them both.  The order is not that important.  For those looking for other clinics, I plan to run the rest of the clinics in the weeks between the 12 and Under Celebration and the WOSA Champs.

If you have any officiating questions please contact me, Mark Lukings L.A.C. Co-Club Officials Chair at
