CONGRATULATIONS to our 98 swimmers who raced in Windsor last weekend at the WOSA Championships. Many of you put in some great work in the weeks leading up to the meet, and through those efforts, as well as a demonstration of skill, consistency and determination at the meet, we were able to win our 3rd consecutive overall WOSA team championship. Top 5 team rankings were: LAC 1435pts - WEST 1023.5pts - GMAC 966pts - WAC 802.5pts - GHAC 764.5pts

Our best time conversion rate was 51.5% (310 pbs out of 601 individual races), and 9 swimmers achieved 100% personal bests. We had 60 swimmers with at least one individual top 10 finish, 31 of whom collected a total of 81 individual medals (31 gold, 26 silver, and 24 bronze), and 9 relay teams finished on the podium (3 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze). There were many relay splits which were faster than times achieved in the corresponding 50m individual event, which tells us that many of you, despite feeling tired and having given 100% throughout a long session of individual racing on Saturday and/or Sunday, at the end of the session were digging down deep for your team and your teammates! You were "RELAY REAL"! For a more detailed look at our results, go to the "News" section of the website.

Special congratulations to club record-setter Junsoo Pak in the 11/12 boys 50FL, to Cleo Murphy for breaking into the LAC ALLTIME TOP 10 for the first time (11/12 girls 100FR) and to first time Provincial (Festival) qualifiers Alex Beckett and Alana Skilling.

Finally a "shout-out" to Team Chaperone Lisa Levy for taking such great care of our team travellers - THANK YOU Lisa! Here's a note from a parent of one of our team travellers: I really wanted to send a huge thank you to the coaches and chaperone but especially the senior swimmers for the weekend!! The entire group was so excellent with the younger swimmers and really showed them how to be a TEAM! My swimmer was so appreciative of everything she learned from them and was proud to be a member of the team. As a first year swimmer and first time on team travel she had an amazing experience and learned way more than she ever could with just attending a meet with us.The entire senior group needs to be commended for their awesome mentorship and being great role models!

Statements were sent out Mon June 5, if you did not receive yours please email Donna at If you have any concerns with your statements please email Donna by Friday June 9, the PAD payments will be processed this weekend and the money will be withdrawn from your account on June 15.

The LAC Board of Directors extends an invitation to all LAC parents to attend the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the Club. The AGM will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 beginning at 7.00 pm at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre in the upper level meeting room. Attendance is not mandatory; however, we encourage at least one member of each swim family to attend this very informative evening and earn one session credit for doing so. New swim families will receive one session credit that may be applied next season.

Further information including a copy of the Minutes from the 2016 AGM and a proxy for 2017 is posted on the website under the Events tab. Please register on the Events sign up page.

If you have any questions please contact me at

Our Hauch meet is fast approaching and in keeping with tradition we will be doing our famous bell heats. Instead of asking for a food donation for this meet, each family will be asked to donate $10 worth of prizes (broken up into smaller prize amounts if possible to spread the prizes out further.) Examples from previous years are $5 gift cards, Towels, Water bottles and a variety of fun toys for the kids to play with around the pool for the day.
When you have your prizes please bring them to your coach or Jane Callon. Please make sure to attach a swim family name when handing in your prizes.

Have fun shopping online while earning money towards our club!  We can compete with other swim clubs and sports teams in our area to see who can raise the most money for our team!  You can follow along on the website to see how much is raised to date and how many people have purchased through our club.  Feel free to invite friends and family to join in the fun!

It's easy to set up by following the simple instructions.

Shop brands such as Indigo, Starbucks, Sephora, Walmart, Old Navy, Lowes, The Bay,, Groupon and even Gift Cards (East Side Marios, Swiss Chalet, etc)

When you order a $50 Gift Card, for example, $5 goes to LAC.  You can print it off immediately.

An additional $5 will be donated to LAC for each new member that places an order.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact

Information on how to access your credits is available on the LAC website under the “Parent Info” tab. If you have any questions please email Donna

Dr. Paul Hauch Invitational (July 14 to 16): We are down to the last meet of the season!  For those who are new, this is our fun outdoor season-closing celebration.  Once again, we will need lots of help.  I am the Competition Coordinator and I am in charge of ensuring that we have enough officials to run each session at the meet.  Sign-ups for Minor officials (Timers and Strokes and Turns) will be posted later by Mike Joudrey, but I need to get the senior officials organized first. If you have taken the clinic and can help as a senior official please let me know ASAP, via email, listing the positions that you want and the sessions that you can work.  The meet is now sanctioned and the session times are as follows: there are 2 sessions on Friday with warm-ups starting at noon and 3:30 PM and 2 sessions on both Saturday and Sunday with warm-ups starting at 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

Meet Managers for the 2017-18 Season:  I am still looking for meet managers for next season.  This is a job that provides a great feeling of accomplishment, much of it will be done on your own schedule prior to the meet, and you have lots of people to lean on and learn from.  If you are new we will give you the clinic and help you through the process.  If you are interested in learning more, please contact me at the email address below.  So far I have 1 offer of help.

If you have any officiating questions please contact me, Mark Lukings L.A.C. Co-Club Officials Chair at
