July 17

The preliminary 2017-18 training schedules will be posted on the website in the next few weeks, and the preliminary competition schedule in early September.

Congratulations to everyone for some great racing and spirit at the Hauch's always fun to see how much a bell prize can get swimmers extra motivated to go fast! For most of you Hauch signalled the end of the 2016-17 swim year - while you’re enjoying some time away from the pool, make sure you’re cheering for your LAC teammates who remain in their final preparation for some big meets coming up: Jessica, Katie and David H. competing at the Canadian Junior Championships July 26-30 in Toronto; and David A., Devin and Maggie at the Canadian Swimming Championships in Montreal Aug.4-7. Many sincere thanks to Hauch Meet Manager Geoff Moskalyk, to Trevor Pool and Marcia Majoor for organizing the Hauch food, to Jan Tebbutt for overseeing our BBQ, and to Jane Callon for collecting the bell prizes and running the prize table.

Congratulations to first time Regional Championship qualifiers at the Hauch Meet: Christian Ardelean, Leah Boulianne and Andy Lian, and to Hauch record-setters Maggie MacNeil (3), Carter Buck and Leah Polito.

At this time we say goodbye to Development Coach Jen Campbell, who is moving to Great Britain. On behalf of the entire LAC family, thank you Jen for all your efforts, and best wishes in your future endeavours.

Everyone have a safe and happy summer, wear lots of sunscreen, remember to watch the World Championships on TV starting July 23 (there's also a link to results in our "News" section), and we look forward to seeing you all in September ready to resume the pursuit of your swimming dreams!

Dr. Paul Hauch Invitational:  That’s it!  Attendance was light but, for those teams who were lucky enough to be in attendance, we had an excellent meet this past weekend!  Congratulations to Geoff Moskalyk and Michael Mohammed on a very nice result!  Not a bad way to end your time with LAC Geoff.  Nice job!  I hope you have success next season at ROW.  Special thanks to the senior officials.  We had just enough with our alumni officials and officiating friends from out of town coming in to assist!  I also cannot say enough good things about the folks sweating it out in the BBQ pit, feeding the officials, and ringing that prize bell.  There were a lot of people who pitched in to help and every one of you were an important part of making the weekend a success!

Meet Managers for the 2017-18 Season: I am still looking for meet managers for next season.  In particular, the Dr. Paul Hauch invitational still needs a meet manager or meet management team for next year.  If you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach and assist.  Email me if you are interested!

Have a great summer everyone!  For those of you who are leaving us this year, LAC will always be your swim family.  Come back to visit us at our meets!
