SPEEDO EASTERN CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
We Did It!!!!!
Well done London Aquatic Club families! Thank you for volunteering your time at Easterns these past four (and in many cases, many more) days. You did a great job. We had many coaches and officials come in and thank our club for a well run meet. The swimmers were happy and had some great times. Every family that participated should be very proud of the club and of themselves.
Thanks again LAC

Coaches Report on Easterns
On the performance front our swimmers did LAC proud, finishing 7th overall (3rd on the men's side), with several outstanding swims. Matt Kwatyra finished with 2 gold in the IM events and a silver in the 200BK, and also established 3 club records; Brayden Salmon's double gold performance on Saturday night electrified the crowd, and his 200FL time was a club record; Matt Roman finished with 3 silver medals in the 400FR, 100FL and 200FL; these 3 were joined by Josef Liska Guzman (4x200FR) and Parker Garrod (4x100MR) to win bronze medals; Lenore Chesworth, Emily Williams, and Ryan Mitchell also raced well in finals; on Sunday morning Kristine Walker qualified for the CIS Championships in the 100FL; Leah Mayer and Shayna Lewis both raced well and got some valuable national-level experience. Special congratulations to our young LAC flag-bearers who did such an outstanding job on Saturday night during the national anthem...there were many positive comments from around the pool about what a magic moment that was; it made everyone at the meet feel proud to be Canadian, and it made everyone associated with LAC feel even prouder to be part of such a great team.
Comments on Easterns from the Club President
WOW! What fantastic support our club showed to host the Speedo Eastern Canadian Championships this past weekend. I am proud to be a part of a club that can pull together and give a big part of their time to be such amazing hosts. Congratulations to everyone who came out over the weekend. Huge kudos to our meet managers - Margaret Marshall and Saad Aldin - who persevered even after many glitches were thrown their way. Well done! It was great to see such a good turnout of LAC swimmers in the stands on Saturday and Sunday nights to show support for our participating swimmers. When our swimmers were on the blocks, they could hear that support and it boosted their efforts to attain their goals. Hopefully each and every one of those young swimmers in the stands took something special away with them that they can apply to their own swimming.
Thank you to everyone who made this Championship meet a success!

IMPORTANT JUNIOR PROVINCIAL UPDATES
1. Psych Sheets are now available at www.swimnkb.com
2. Pre-Meet training period has been shortened due to pool availability. Only one 25m pool will be available from 2:30 until 5:00 pm
3. The warm down pool is not available for the entire meet. Coaches will be advised in the coaches meeting about specific times.
4. There is also a Ringette tournament occurring at the facility the same weekend. Parking will be a challenge. The facility staff are requesting that meet participants/families proceed directly to the rear parking lot to avoid congestion. We suggest as an alternative, the Ottawa public bus system has 2 park and ride facilities within 5 minutes of the Sportsplex. They are located at Woodroffe/Baseline and Woodroffe/Fallowfield. Please confirm actual times, but #95 stops at the Sportsplex from either of these locations and is on a 15 minute interval.
5. NKB is a disposable water bottle free club. Please bring your own refillable water bottle for use on deck. Our hospitality staff will be circulating periodically to refill.
