CONGRATULATIONS to first time Regional Championship qualifier MacKenzie Lukings.
We are now in the final preparation stage for our trip to Gatineau and the major competition of the fall training cycle. Remember in this final phase that it is very important to go FAST when you are asked to go FAST in training...the race car has to get out on the track and do some laps at maximum speed to make sure everything is working as it should. Your body (the race car) needs to simulate race efforts in this final stage so that the actual races inside the meet are not a shock to the system. And you must also ensure at this stage that you are putting all the right fuels in the high performance machine that is your body, and you are getting adequate amounts of rest. We have 65 swimmers (two buses!) making the trip...it should be a lot of fun and the swimming will be fast, make sure you are ready!
HOLIDAY TIME TRIAL
This time trial takes place Sat Dec 8 at CGAC the warm up starts at 3:30 pm. Only the swimmers that indicated they will be attending have been entered in the meet.
CNG HOLIDAY INVITATIONAL
This meet will take place in Gatineau, Quebec Dec.14-16, and has been designated as a team travel event, which means that if you wish to compete you will travel and stay with the team for the duration of the event. The estimated cost for this event is $350, which includes transportation, hotel and meals. Please deposit your cheque in the LAC box by Dec 7. The bus will be leaving from CGAC at 8:00 am on Thursday December 13 and returning to CGAC at approximately 3:00 am on Monday December 17.
Hello LAC officials! Just 3 quick things to cover this week.
There will be a live Strokes and Turns clinic this Friday (December 7) at CGAC in the downstairs meeting room from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Please sign-up on the LAC website. There is only room for 12 students and it is hoped that each student will request a one-on-one apprenticeship with an experienced Strokes and Turns official at the Time Trial on Saturday, December 8. This can be done by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org once you have signed up for the clinic. If you miss this clinic, don’t worry, we will be having at least one more Strokes and Turns clinic prior to the 12 and Under Celebration in January and you can apprentice at that meet as well.
The December Time Trial is this Saturday, December 8. The sign-ups are available and we are in need of Strokes and Turns Qualified officials. Please get on the site and sign up if you have taken the clinic and you are confident that you know the rules. There may also be spots available to help set up. This is a good way to add to your knowledge and add session credits to a meet.
If you took the Timers Clinic in early November and have not yet registered as an official, please do so. This is our way of ensuring that your record of completing this required clinic is not lost.
