There will be NO LAC workouts during the March Break (Mar 9 - 17)

Well done to all of our LAC'ers who competed at the SWA Invitational in Tillsonburg last weekend.  There were some of you representing LAC for the first time in competition, and we're proud to have you wearing the blue & orange, others swam events they had never completed before, and of course there were lots of personal bests.  On a weather note, we don't ever want you to put swim meet or practice attendance ahead of personal the winter, if you feel the road conditions are unsafe, please exercise discretion in deciding whether or not to attempt the trip...there will always be other swim meets and certainly lots of other swim practices!!

Congratulations to first time Regional Qualifier Jorge Mendoza Alvir.

Good luck to our 9 swimmers representing LAC at Eastern Canadians in Montreal this weekend.

Congratulations to the Western Mustangs women on their 5th straight OUA championship, and the men for their 3rd place finish, and to Coaches Paul Midgley and Ken Fitzpatrick on being named OUA women's coaches of the year. See the "What's New" section on our main page for the full story.

Minor Officials

The sign-up limit per family for the upcoming Winter Festival is now ten.  There are many stroke & turn positions open. A meet like the Winter Festival is a good meet to get stroke & turn experience; the general quality of swimming tends to be better than an invitational meet so while infractions are less frequent, they tend to be easier to spot when they do happen.

The meet is currently planned to be double-ended. Some sessions may only be single-ended depending on the number of entries received. If this occurs, stroke and turn sign-ups will be guaranteed their position but only the first 16 positions for timing will be guaranteed their position.

The sign-up system allows 50 character spaces to include additional information. When you select the "Green sign-up button" to confirm your sign-up, a box will appear that will allow you to enter information. Please include the name of the individual who will be working the swim session.

Food Contributions

An event has been created for the food contributions. Items should be brought to the canteen area at CGAC on Friday evening prior to the start of the meet.

The food item should be $5.00 in value.  All fruit and vegetables should be brought in whole. No-Name pop should NOT be substituted for the name brand requested.

When a family drops off their food contribution, there is a list to check your name; it is the responsibility of the family to ensure the name is checked off.

Families not providing the requested food item will be billed for the allotted amount plus an administrative fee of $5.00 on their Swimmer Account. Please note for any families that know ahead of time they will not be able to make a contribution, there is a spot to select that choice at the bottom of the list. The administration fee takes into account the additional time and effort of canteen volunteers required when contribution are not brought in. The extra time required includes extra trips to the store and extra food prep.

Please contact Wendi Jackson at tjackson@execulink.comfor any questions

Swimmer (formerly Travel) Account Statements

Swimmer statements were sent out over the weekend by e-mail to your login e-mail. Please let me know if you did not receive your statement. Included in the e-mail will be options for making payment. Details of the meet entries can be found under the "Swimmer A/Cs // Entry Summaries" tab when signed in on the website. Families are reminded that payment is due on receipt.
