WELL DONE to all of our swimmers who raced at Western University last weekend, whether at the 13&Over Regional Championships or the Regional Sting Meet. We had several first-time qualifying swims at the Sting meet (see below), as well as strokes and distances completed for the first time.  At the 13&Over Regional Champs we converted 208 out of 338 individual swims into personal bests, for a rate of 61.5%. 16 swimmers performed personal bests in 100% of their races and, at Sun evening finals, 40 of our 52 swims were faster than the preliminaries (almost 80%)...again demonstrating that "FINISH STRONG" is more than just a saying on a is a LAC MINDSET. 26 LAC'ers collected 73 medals in individual events (21G-28S-24B), while we had 5 medal-winning relay teams (2S-3B), and 22 more swimmers placed in the top 8. See the "WHAT'S NEW" section of the website for a complete list of medalists. So, overall, a very solid team-wide performance, lots of spirit, lots of support, and lots of tough racing. Now, back to work for the final push into the end of the season and end of the year. This is your opportunity to ensure that you will be making a very loud and proud 'FINISH STRONG" statement at the end of the 2013 year. GO LAC GO!

Special CONGRATULATIONS to club record-setter Aitana Robinson in the 15-17 girls 50BK, and to first time qualifiers Jackson Churchill, AJ Velez Rizo, Emily Doyle, Tyler VanBerkel, Ahmed Barakat, Clara MacNeil and Joseph St Pierre (Regionals); and Derek Micu (Provincial Festival); and belated CONGRATULATIONS to first time All Time Top 10 LAC Performer Lauren Blaha.

Regionals has now concluded, and I would like to personally extend my thanks to all of the people whose efforts were instrumental leading up to and during this past weekend's event. We had over 450 swimmers competing from 26 clubs, long sessions each day and a busy schedule to maintain but with the assistance and commitment of many hard-working and dedicated volunteers we were able to keep things running smoothly and successfully hosted our first swim meet at Western University.  Again, my thanks.  There were many great moments and we saw some fantastic swimming every session; congratulations to all of our swimmers; I hope everyone who attended and participated enjoyed themselves.

Sincerely, Greg Lewis

I wanted to thank everyone involved with making our WOSA Sting meet a success. We had a lot of smiles on the deck, some great swimming and a number of first time ever regional qualifiers who will be heading to McMaster in a couple of weeks. I hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and want to say a special thank you to those that went above and beyond this weekend to help out at Western. You made it happen!

Steve Langham

A donation of a $5-10 prize(s) from each swim family will be needed for the Paul Hauch meet bell heat prizes. Please send one in to your coaches or Mimi & Anthony Prier (Dev 2 practises). The sooner the better so we can get organized.
Great prizes include...water bottles, towels, $5 gift cards, summer toys, etc!
Thanks for your support in making this a fun summer meet for all the swimmers!

The LAC AGM will be held on June 19th at 7 pm. Additional details including minutes of the 2012 meeting and financial have been posted to the website under the 'Events' tab and sign up is now available. You must be signed in to view the documents.

This past weekend LAC hosted 2 more excellent meets (WOSA Champs and the WOSA Sting meet) and our officials did not disappoint. Your continued professionalism and attentiveness helps to earn our club a reputation for hosting great meets!

Special thanks our meet managers Greg Lewis (WOSA Champs) and Steve Langham (WOSA Sting) for all of their hard work leading up to and during the events. Great job gents! Thanks also to our Meet Referees Mike Williams and Mark Lukings.

These events were a special challenge because we were located over at Western so I want to also thank those folks who helped to deal with that situation by moving everything over there and back to CGAC again Sunday evening. Thanks a lot folks. Your help made these extra logistics much easier to deal with.

Our final LAC hosted meet of the season is the Dr. Paul Hauch Invitational Outdoor meet at Thames Pool coming up on the weekend of July 12 to 14. I hope to see lots of you there!
