Newsletter 2012-13 Issue 39
The summer schedule began on Mon May 27 and is available under the "schedule" tab, CLICK HERE to view. There are two schedules, one runs May 27 to June 30 and the other goes from July 1 to the end of the season.
GOOD LUCK to all of our swimmers competing at the 12&U WOSA Championships in Hamilton this weekend.
As the season winds down the tendency sometimes is for us to "wind down" as well, and adopt a "I can hardly wait until the season is over" mindset. This can be a dangerous position in our demanding sport...if you truly want to show the LAC "FINISH STRONG" mentality then you need to be digging down deep and training at your best level of the entire year. If you can manage this, you are likely to finish with some truly exciting results at your last meet, and set yourself up well for the start of the 2013-14 campaign. TRAIN HARD, EAT RIGHT, and GET PLENTY OF REST. And, if you are going to doubt anything, doubt your limits! GO LAC GO!
LAC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The LAC AGM will be held on June 19th at 7 pm. Additional details including minutes of the 2012 meeting and financial have been posted to the website under the 'Events' tab and sign up is now available. You must be signed in to view the documents.
Swimmer Account Statements
The next swimmer account statements will be sent by email by this week. They will include meet fees up to and including the WOSA LC 13 & Over Championship. Prompt payment is always appreciated.
General information on swimmer statements including payment options can be found by logging in to the website and looking under swimmer accounts. The entry summary tab includes details for meets fees (please note we do not currently use the website billing system).
As always, feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org you have any questions about the postings on your account. For any questions requiring more than a simple e-mail, please see me at the pool or e-mail me so we can make arrangements to speak over the phone.
Thanks to 5 familiar, because they’re always there, LAC gents and one London Silver Dolphins (non-LAC associated) swimmer for helping to move the remaining equipment used at WOSA from WSRC to CGAC this week! Your help was very much appreciated.
Our final LAC hosted meet of the season is the Dr. Paul Hauch Invitational Outdoor meet at Thames Pool coming up on the weekend of July 12 to 14. If you are interested in a senior officiating position please contact Meet Referee Alex Vanderkam (email@example.com).
On the Saturday evening, following the afternoon Hauch session, the annual London Silver Dolphins Sunset Meet will be held at Thames Pool. Warm-up at 5:00, start at 6:00. If you are available to officiate at any level, especially if you are a LSD swimmer’s spouse or child, please contact Alex Vanderkam (firstname.lastname@example.org) for that as well.
By the way, if you are a high school student you can get volunteer credits for working at any swim meet and you can earn your family a session credit if it is a LAC meet. Hauch might be a good opportunity to help finish off your family’s session credit obligations (minimum age 14).
