GREAT JOB swimmers at the HAUCH Meet - lots of personal bests, lots of smiles, and even a few tears, as some swimmers didn't want their seasons to conclude. Those are happy tears, and they're definitely a good thing! On behalf of all of our swimmers, a big THANK YOU to all of our parents for their efforts on the pool decks in support of the swimmers' efforts in the water at all of our swim meets this year.
Some BIG meets coming up with swimmers in their final stages of preparation - GOOD LUCK to:
Jake, Vincent, Brayden and Robert at Senior Nationals; our 9 swimmers competing at Age Group Nationals, and our 17 swimmers going to the Ohio Senior Championships.
To all of you whose year has concluded, WELL DONE! The next 6 weeks are a time for relaxation, regeneration, and recovery. Go for long walks and bike rides and swims at the beach and in your backyard pools, eat some ice cream, roast some marshmallows, but mostly enjoy some time away from CGAC and CHOCC and Thames. We want you to come back in September re-charged, re-energized, and ready to work harder than ever toward your goals. Everyone, swimmers and parents alike, HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY SUMMER!
Congratulations First Time Regional Qualifiers: Nick Bennett, Carter Buck, Luke Collings, Oliver Collings, Kyla Romero, Emma Shaywer and Colin Shearer.
LAC OFFICIALS REPORT
Well that’s it for most of us. We have reached the end of our 2012/13 Swim Meet season with a fabulous 36th edition of the Dr. Paul Hauch Invitational Meet! Congratulations to Paul and Sherri Cappa, our meet managers and thanks to Alex Vanderkam our Meet Referee for another job very well done! Thank you to all of the officials who came out and filled out the empty slots in our roster and helped preserve our reputation of holding some of the best run meets around. Nicely done! We also had a great turnout for set up and tear down. Many hands make light work and all the help was greatly appreciated.
From an officials training point of view it has been a very successful season as well. 9 local live clinics were given, 2 regional clinic days were held, and many people took advantage of the online clinics. In combination, we had 138 successful students! We also had numerous people moving up the officiating ladder, which is something that I love to see. Congratulations to all of you!
Next season I have some new ideas to help make things more interesting and I hope to see many of you again in the fall.
Have a happy and safe summer. We’ll see you in September!
