Sat Oct 12 Sr Blue swims at CGAC 5:30-8:30am (no Western U. workout)
Mon Oct 14 NO workouts CGAC closed for Thanksgiving
With Thanksgiving soon to be behind us it will be time to get down to some serious work! A good analogy when it comes to swim practice is that of "building a house" - the coaches create a design concept (a plan for where they want the swimmers and team to be by year-end), then together swimmers and coaches set about "building the foundation and the framework." As you mature and get further into your swimming career, the finer details (the interior decorating, or how you "paint the rooms") will evolve based on your individual strengths and weaknesses. Everybody's house, and how they "decorate" it, will be different! So, we're in the process of laying the foundation of the house...the bigger and deeper the foundation (the harder you work) the stronger the house (the faster you are likely to swim). It's time to get out your shovel and start to dig, but be precise, dig with purpose and precision, a goal and a plan. The shovel is really important, but ALWAYS remember, as a swimmer your most important tool is what?? your DRILL! What kind of house are you going to build?
CONGRATULATIONS to the following swimmers who were selected to, and participated in, recent development camps: Vincent Cappa (Provincial Train to Compete Camp); David Hickey, Alexander Pedda, and William Stewart (Regional Learn to Train Camp); Sasha Goodreau, Tyrus Kalanyos, James Quigley and Emma Shawyer (Regional Fundamentals Camp).

FUNDRAISING - QSP Magazines
Once again we will be participating in the QSP magazine fundraiser. This fundraiser is an excellent way to offset the cost of meet fees by purchasing magazine subscriptions through QSP. The fundraising portion of the subscription price is approximately 35%. Of this amount, 80% is credited to the family swimmer account and 20% is retained by the club.
This year we are using the ONLINE method exclusively. To participate ONLINE, you will need to log in to www.qsp.ca The online code for LAC is 17084. If this is your first time using QSP's ONLINE ordering, you will need to register first.
If you have questions, please either email Stacey at firstname.lastname@example.org or see her at the pool.
