Well, hard to believe we've almost reached the end of the short course swim season...25 weeks have passed since September. Our final competition weekend will be a busy one, with 27 swimmers racing in our home pool at the Provincial Age Group Championships, 35 swimmers travelling to Newmarket for an invitational meet, and 60 of you racing on Sunday at the Late Winter Time Trial. If you are one of these 122 swimmers, you have one more opportunity to show off your 25 weeks of purposeful, passionate, persistent practice...also an opportunity to FINISH (the season) STRONG! Wherever you are, remember the following: 1) be a proud LAC'er 2) race smart & race tough 3) stay positive & support your teammates and 4) HAVE FUN!

The coaches are very confident that this weekend's results will be a great springboard into the long course season. GO LAC GO!

Child Fitness Tax Credit Receipts

There are still a few openings for Timers and Strokes and Turns officials at the Provincial Age Group Champs this weekend. Sign-up has closed but if you are interested in a session please contact Mary Allen at

The session length at the Late Winter Time Trial this Sunday is about 1 hour and 15 minutes...a pretty easy session credit. We still require 5 S&T, 1 Timer, 1 Clerk of Course, and 1 Chief Timekeeper. If you are interested please contact me.

A reminder to all officials working at Provincials. Please bring your Officials Certification Card and request a sign-off for your deck experience. If you have lost your card, I will have more at the meet office. If you let me know know ahead of time I can have it filled in with your clinic history for you. If you grab me at the meet, after your sign-off, I can update your online record on the spot.

The Western Region clinic day will be held on Saturday, March 22 at the St. Thomas Campus of Fanshawe College. The morning clinics will include Referee, Recorder/Scorer, Strokes and Turns, and Chief Finish Judge/Chief Judge Electronics. The afternoon clinics will be Starter, Meet Manager, Clerk Of Course, and Chief Timekeeper. This is a great opportunity to attend live clinics for those positions that are presented less often. Morning refreshments and lunch are provided and there is no charge for any of this. Mark your calendars. You can register on your OSOA.CA account or you can just show up but keep in mind that they have to plan for the right amount of food.

If anyone has any questions about anything officiating related, please do not hesitate to contact me.
