Jr. National & Provincial Coach - Steven Maychak
Steven has been coaching for over a decade. He started out with a summer swim club in Brooks, AB. Moved to Lethbridge in 2016, worked with the Spartans (formerly known as Excalibur) for one year, the Lethbridge Orcas for 3 years and made the transition to coaching year round swimming with LASC in 2019. Growing up, hockey was his choice of sport in the winter and competitive swimming in the summer. He makes a continuous effort to grow and adapt to better serve the community he works in.

Jr. Provincial Coach: Owen Guyn

I have been involved in competitive swimming since I was six years old, and have been coaching since I was eighteen years old. I grew up in Lethbridge, competing every summer with the Lethbridge Orcas Summer Swim Club. After high school, I graduated from the U of L with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, swimming for the Pronghorns for all five years, and captaining the team during my last three years. I started coaching with LASC as a substitute coach in 2015, and started coaching more regularly in 2019 with both LASC and the Lethbridge Orcas. I love coaching because I get to share my love for swimming with a new generation of young athletes. My love for the sport has led me to continue to train with the Pronghorns and compete for LASC, with the goal of competing at World Championship Trials in April 2022. In my spare time I love to do other sports like volleyball, surfing, skateboarding, golfing, and skiing, and I really like traveling, listening to music, and watching movies as well!

Olympic Way Coach: Lauren Miner
Coach Lauren is currently a third-year English major at the University of Lethbridge with passions for creative writing and teaching. Prior to moving here for school, Lauren swam and coached for the Alberta Marlins in Medicine Hat. As an athlete, her favourite event was the 200m breaststroke and though she does not swim competitively today, one of her favourite ways to de-stress from school is by going for a swim! Lauren has been coaching since about 2015 and has experience with all ages, abilities, and skill levels. Though while masked you won't be able to see it, Lauren is always smiling while coaching as it is her favourite thing to do and prides herself on her outgoing and enthusiastic on-deck presence.
