If you are interested in joining the Scarborough Swim Club, a try-out is required. The try-out will allow us to place you in the most appropriate group to maximize swimmer enjoyment and skill development. Please note, SCAR strictly adheres to the Swimming Canada Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model, which means that group placement is not just based on skills, but also on age and physical size & strength.
Assessments ensure that all swimmers are appropriately placed in their correct group based on their current swimming skill level. In-water assessments last approximately 10-15 minutes. All assessments are conducted at RH King Pool.
If your swimmer has previous competitive experience, a New Swimmer Assessment is required prior to registration.
If your swimmer is 6-12 years old and has had previous swimming instruction, a New Swimmer Assessment is required before registering your child. Click here for more information about our I Can Swim program.
