Since 1995 we have been teaching the youngsters of the Richmond Hill Aquatic Club the basics of competitive swimming in a fun and challenging environment.
Our goal is to provide the fundamentals of competitive swimming that will let the aspiring competitive swimmers learn how to control their body in the water. We then show them how to translate these skills into the four competitive strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle.
The Sharks pre-competitive program runs three 10-week sessions over the course of the school year: September to December, January to March, April to June.
At the end of each session swimmers may be promoted to Supersharks or Novice group.
Sharks program is available to swimmers 9 years old and under with Swimmer 4 completed.
(Swimmer 4-" These intermediate swimmers will swim 5 m underwater and lengths of front, back crawl, whip kick, and breaststroke arms with breathing. Their new bag of tricks includes the completion of the Canadian Swim to Survive® Standard. They'll cap it all off with front crawl sprints over 25 m and 4 x 25 m front or back crawl interval training.")
