SWIM PROGRAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO WE DETERMINE WHAT LEVEL?

At the beginning of each session we evaluate all new swimmers, and based upon the swimmers skill   level they are placed into appropriate groups. Generally if a swimmer has never been in the water and is a weak swimmer they start off in our Ripples One while a swimmer who knowledge of breaststroke or butterfly would be placed into level Ripples Three.

Additionally, we are constantly evaluating the swimmers in our program and will recommend group changes as soon as we identify the need. We only have 3 core groups in our RIPPLES program, while the Red Cross has 10 & the movement from between levels will be greater with the city versa our program; so please be prepared for your child to swim an entire season in the same group.

Ripples Vs. Red Cross

There are several differences & yet similarities to the Ripples program and the Red Cross. Both programs are designed to provide swimmers with the knowledge of how to swim & survive in the water. However, the difference is in their approach.

WATER RATIO

We strive to provide our swimmers with greatest instructional coaching possible, which includes in water instructions. The ratio is not meant to be per class but take as per session as we understand that some practices will be all in water and some will be all from the deck.
