The Claremont Club Aquatics Department offers a variety of swim programs for all levels of athletes from the recreational to the competitive. Our 50-meter by 25-yard Olympic pool and our recreational pool are heated year-round. Lanes are open everyday for lap swimming, while Aqua Fit classes and private/group swim lessons are also available. In addition, the club offers a competitive swim team as well as a Masters swim team (adults).
Head Coach and Aquatics Manager John Ries has been coaching since 1961. John has coached numerous national level swimmers as well as two young men who went on to make the U.S. Olympic Swim Team, Doug Northway and Jeff Kostoff. In 1991, John came to The Claremont Club, bringing with him 40 years of coaching experience.
Today, The Claremont Club Swim Team has approximately 150 participants. The Claremont Club Swim Team is offered to both club members and non-members. The team’s history includes 4 Olympic Trial athletes, 2 U.S.A. National Junior Team Members, National and Junior National swimmers, Top 10 times in the country, CIF Champions, Junior Olympic Champions, and Southern California Swimming records. The swim team is open to ages 5 through 18 years and competes against all teams in the Southern California area.
