Year Round Swimming
Our year-round program offers high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. Our coaches encourage every athlete to achieve continued improvement and success at his or her level of ability, from novice to the highest levels of competition.
Our swimmers can expect an opportunity to learn how hard work, discipline and dedication will affect their lives; both in the pool and out of the water. They will be challenged and encouraged by their coaches to give their best effort, in practice and in competition. Most importantly, our swimmers can expect to have fun. They will meet new friends, become proud of their achievements, and learn important skills that will help them flourish - in the pool and in life.
To be eligible for our year round swimming program, potential members must be capable of swimming 25 yards of freestyle or other stroke within 1 minute. A preliminary skills assessment will be given to all potential members by someone from our coaching staff, which will determine eligibility to join the team, and group placement. After the athlete is placed in a group the practice expectations, equipment needs, and competition requirements can be found under the GROUPS tab. Summer Recreation Program - (May, June, July)
Registration for our Summer Recreation program starts in April. Please contact us at 661-489-7450 for information on how to register. This program is a summer recreation league that practices and competes for only 3 months. Minimum practice and competition attendance is encouraged, but not required. During the April registration period, information regarding practice times and competition schedules will be made available.
High School Pre-Season and Development
The Bakersfield Aquatics Club offers seasonal or year-round high school preparation for student athletes wanting to get a competitive edge over other high school swimmers, but are not quite ready to commit to elite level practices. It is the perfect way to build a good fitness base for the season and fine tune stroke technique to increase efficiency in the water.
