FCST SWIM LEAGUE LEVEL DESCRIPTIONS 

 

Swim League Level 1

To join the group swimmers should be water safe and able to complete a 25 yard Freestyle and 25 yard Backstroke. At this level swimmers learn skills necessary to continue to develop strength and efficiency in their Freestyle and Backstroke.  Swimmers will also be introduced to the other 2 strokes; Breaststroke and Butterfly.

 

Swim League Level 2

To join the group swimmers should be able to proficiently complete 25 yard Freestyle and 25 yard Backstroke.  Swimmers should also have knowledge of the other 2 competitive strokes (Breaststroke and Butterfly).  The primary focus at this level will be placed on teaching all strokes through the use of drills, improving kick technique, learning body position and balance in the water. Swimmers in this group will be introduced to turns and starts.

 

Swim League Level 3

To join the group swimmers should be able to competently complete a 25 yard swim of Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.  This level will focus on refinement of all 4 competitive strokes through strengthening kick, improving technique, and use of training skills (turns, reading the clock, and learning training terminology).  Swimmers will learn to maintain stroke technique while being introduced to aerobic conditioning.
