White Group 1 Developmental Group - Pre-Competitive (5-11 year-olds)
Swimmers must be able to swim 20 yards rudimentary freestyle and/or backstroke to join this group.
Coaches work on developing a strong foundation in all 4 strokes, focusing on stroke technique, drills, kicking, starts and turns while introducing swimmers to the concept of competitive swimming.
We recommend swimmers in this group attend at least 2-3 practices a week to achieve satisfactory progress. Practices usually run 45-60 minutes.
Swim meets are optional for this group.
Equipment: swim suit, goggles, cap, equipment bag, fins
White Group 2 Developmental Group - Competitive (6-12 year-olds)
Swimmers need to have a rudimentary freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly and be able to swim 100 yards without stopping.
Coaches continue to work on developing a strong foundation in all 4 strokes, focusing on stroke technique, drills, kicking, starts and turns while also incorporating basic interval training, learning to read the clock, and building a bit of an endurance base as they prepare to move up to the 10&U white and yellow groups.
We recommend swimmers in this group attend at least 2-4 practices a week to achieve satisfactory progress. Practices usually run 45-60 minutes.
We strongly encourage swimmers in this group to compete in meets that are appropriate for their level.
