PARENT POLICIES

Please abide by the policies listed below as they are necessary to provide the best experience and environment for your children at practices or meets:

POOL DECK

Please remember that parents and other children are not allowed on deck during the season because it is a disruption and distraction for all swimmers being coached or evaluated in the pool.  The team is not insured for anyone on deck other than a USA Swimming registered athlete or registered non-athlete. [Please observe pool deck rules at meet locations, as well. Parents and non USA Swimming registered athletes/non-athletes are not allowed on deck unless you are an assigned timer or have permission to be on deck.]

PRACTICES

Please make the commitment to get your child to practice on time.  Children should be on deck ready to swim 5 minutes before scheduled practice or meet warm-up times.  Children are to be dropped-off and walked on deck no more than 15 minutes before practice and picked up no later than 15 minutes after practice. [The coaches need to manage and organize a lot of swimmers and we have had a lot of tardiness in the Gold and AG1 practice groups.]

CODE OF CONDUCT/LOCKER ROOM

You read the Code of Conduct, and agreed to abide by the code when you registered online.  The code applies to the deck and locker areas at any pool while your children are representing Weston.  Your children are the coach’s responsibility only when they reach the pool deck, not while they’re in a locker room.  Locker room supervision is the parent’s responsibility. [For the general safety of all swimmers, it is advised that swimmers who are 8 and under must be supervised in the locker rooms or their general vicinity before and after practice by a parent, guardian, caregiver, or a mature adolescent. Please be aware that the locker rooms, hallways, and viewing balcony are part of a public building open to all individuals. Children left alone outside of the pool area could be at risk of danger. Of note, CT general statutes suggest that children under 12 should not be left unsupervised in public places.]

If you should have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Coaches via phone or email.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Swim Fast, Gators!

Warmly,
