2019 SPRING/SUMMER SEASON

PAC SWIM TEAM REGISTRATION INFORMATION - SPRING/SUMMER 2019

Welcome to Panther Aquatic Club Long Course Swim Season!

 

The Spring/Summer Long Course season will begin in April. PAC Long Course training will take place at Pomperaug High School with occasional practices at Ballantine Park and a rented 50 meter pool. Long Course meets are conducted in a 50 meter pool.  Registration information and an explanation of practice squads follows. 

 

REGISTRATION:          PAC returning swimmers may register for the season via the PAC website, www.pacswimming.com. DO NOT LOG IN FIRST. Once on the site, click on the Start Registration button in the leftmost column and proceed as directed.  Fees may be paid online with a credit card. You may elect a one-time payment or installments. If opting to pay in installments, the expiration date on your credit card must be later than 7/15/2019. If paying by check, payment must be made in full, payable to PAC and mailed to PAC, c/o 1026 Kettletown Road, Southbury CT 06488, prior to the start of practice.

 

PRACTICE SQUADS AND FEES (payable to PAC):

SENIOR ELITE A SQUAD

  • The Senior Elite A Squad is designed for our fastest high school athletes to fine tune stroke mechanics and increase their endurance, speed, and strength in the water. These swimmers are ready to commit to high intensity workouts with a minimum of 10 hours of practice per week; 2 hours per day, 5 days a week.  These practices will be enhanced with morning, weekend and/or long course practice sessions.
  • Senior Elite A swimmers will be expected to attend 90% of practices. Participation in meets and end of season championships is required.
  • The season will run from April 1ST through late-July. Fee is $680.
    • (Fees may be paid in installments: 4 installments of $170.)

 

SENIOR ELITE B SQUAD

  • The Senior Elite B Squad is designed for our high school athletes desiring to work on stroke mechanics while maintaining endurance, speed, and strength in the water. Practice is 1 hour per day, 5 days a week. These practices will be enhanced with optional morning, weekend and/or long course practice sessions.
  • Senior Elite B swimmers will be expected to attend as many practices as possible and are encouraged to compete in meets during the season and championship meet at the end of the season.
  • The season will run from April 1st through late-July. Fee is $520.
    • (Fees may be paid in installments: 4 installments of $130.)

 

SENIOR SQUAD

  • The Senior Squad is designed for our middle school and upper elementary school swimmers who want to continue to work on stroke mechanics and increase their endurance, speed, and strength in the water. This group will train at high intensity for 1-1½ hours five days a week. There will be optional weekend and long course practice sessions available.
  • Senior Squad swimmers will be expected to attend as many practices as possible and are encouraged to compete in meets during the season and championship meet(s) at the end of the season. We understand that many of these younger swimmers will be participating in other Spring sports.
  • The season will run from April 1st through late-July. Fee is $560.
    • (Fees may be paid in installments: 4 installments of $140.00)

 

COMPETITION A SQUAD

  • The Competition A Squad is designed for swimmers who are working on proficiency in all strokes, but are not yet ready for the high demands of Senior or Senior Elite.  This squad will train 3 days a week for one hour, working on specifics stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and increasing endurance in the pool.
  • Competition A Squad swimmers are expected to attend as many practices as possible. Participation in meets is encouraged in preparation for a championship meet in July.
  • The season will run from April 22nd to July 14th.  Fee is $480.
    •  (Fees may be paid in installments: 4 installments of $120.00)

 

COMPETITION B SQUAD

  • The Competition Squad is designed for swimmers who are working on proficiency in all strokes.  This squad will train 3 days a week for one hour, working on specifics stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and increasing endurance in the pool.
  • Competition B Squad swimmers are expected to attend as many practices as possible. Participation in meets is suggested.
  • The season will run from April 22nd to June 14. Fee is $330.
    •  (Fees may be paid in installments: 3 installments of $110.00)

 

8/UNDER SQUAD

  • The 8/Under Squad is designed for our younger athletes who love the sport of swimming and are anxious to continue to train in the spring.  This squad will train twice a week for 45 minutes. Continued emphasis on stroke development in all four strokes, streamline, starts and turns.
  • 8/Under Squad swimmers should attend as many Tuesday and Thursday practices as possible to benefit from instruction and conditioning and may compete in meets if they would like.
  • The season will run from April 22nd to June 14th. Fee is $240.
    • (Fees may be paid in installments: 2 installments of $120.00)

 

CUB SQUAD

  • The Cub Squad is designed for 5 and 6 year olds who can swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke. They will train once a week on Tuesdays for 45 minutes.
  • This squad will not compete.
  • The season will run from April 22nd to June 14th. Fee is $120. 
    • (Fees may be paid in installments: 2 installments of $60.00)

           

COMPETING IN MEETS

Member families will be notified when meets are available for sign up. Please be prompt in committing your child to meets as they fill up very quickly and we must send entries very early to hold space in the meet for our team. Meet details can be found under the MEETS tab on the team website. All meet entries require a meet entry fee which will be charged to your member accounts once the team entry is submitted to the host team. ALL FAMILIES ARE EXPECTED TO TIME AT MEETS DURING THE SEASON.

UNIFORM:       Swimmers must wear the team suit and cap at meets. 

PRACTICE:      The practice calendar will be posted on the team website under the PRACTICE tab.  Any changes to this calendar will be emailed.   Check the team website for the full practice schedule including times and days.

WEBSITE:        www.pacswimming.com contains everything you will need to know about the team, meets we will attend, practice information, etc.  Please be timely in signing your swimmer up for meets.

 

FINANCIAL POLICIES:

            Once a swimmer’s registration is processed for the upcoming season, there will be no prorating of fees or refunds for failure to practice, unless a valid doctor’s note for a long term illness or injury is presented.  In this case, fees will be prorated by month for the remainder of the season. A $25 cancellation processing fee will be applied.

PAYMENT METHOD – CHECK

  • If membership fees are to be paid by check, fees must be paid in full.

 

PAYMENT METHOD - CREDIT CARD 

  • All member families are encouraged to link a credit card to their account. We do not have access to this number once it is stored; we are only able to post charges to the card.
  • Any family wishing to pay in installments MUST use a credit card for payment.
  • Any family wishing to pay membership fees in installments using a credit card, must provide a current credit card number with date of expiration later than the last day of the season.
  • Any family paying in installments will be charged on the first of the month for that month’s membership fee installment.
  • In order to participate in meets, a credit card must be on file. The credit card on file will be charged for meet fees on the day meet fees are posted to the account.

All outstanding fees must be paid before a swimmer may be re-registered for the upcoming season.
