John Reese

John began his relationship with swimming in Arkansas when his daughters joined the Maumelle Marlins in the early 90’s.

By timing and starting at those early meets he learned that there was more to attending a swim meet than simply watching your children going back and forth in the pool. When his daughters moved to the LRAC lasers  he came in to contact with Arkansas swimming and USA swimming, it was the start of a wonderful relationship. Over the years John became more involved in swimming by officiating meets across the country at all levels. John attained National Finals certification as a referee, refereed the SEC and Sunbelt Championships the Arkansas State High school Championships attended the national official’s training camp at the Olympic training center in Lake Placid, NY. John is a recipient of the United States Swimming Phillips 66 Outstanding Service Award. All in all John is convinced that he received a lot more from the people and experiences connected with Arkansas swimming the he ever contributed.
