The Dayton Raiders Capital Campaign successfully purchased an existing facility in the Miami Valley region. The Greater Dayton YMCA announced in February 2013 they were looking for a new owner for the Beavercreek YMCA at 560 Grange Hall Road in Beavercreek, Ohio. This unique and rare opportunity allowed for the Dayton Raiders Swim Club to purchase and take ownership of the Beavercreek YMCA. The facility became the primary Raider training facility. The club understands that demand for training space in Dayton exceeds the amount of indoor, year-round facilities that are available. The Beavercreek YMCA is unlike any other YMCA in the region due to it's primary design and architecture is around aquatic services. The facility includes an 8-lane, 25 yd pool, plus a dive well that converts into 4 additional 12-yard lanes, along with a separate instruction pool make.
After surveys, appraisals, and inspections were completed in January 2013, the Dayton Raiders signed an agreement on Feb 11, 2013 the 32,000 square foot building, 5 acres, and recently paved parking lot. Financing has been secured for the majority of the purchase price. However, this financing still falls short of completing the purchase. The purchase price gap ($150,000), modernized upgrades and initial sustainment costs ($260,000), as well as programming offerings & growth have resulted in a Capital Campaign called Phase I and set at $1,000,000. Phase II is a continuation of Phase I and involves sustainment and programming services to meet regional demands. Phase III target is $2,500,000 and includes major expansions to include a 50-meter pool.
