Lifeguard
The Wisconsin Club Country Club is looking for qualified individuals to serve as Lifeguards during the Summer 2018 season which ranges from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Requirements

A VALID American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification, YMCA Lifeguard Certification, Ellis Lifeguard Certification, or Milwaukee County Lifeguard Certification; All are accepted. 
We are able to certify and re-certify lifeguards if needed.
Must be able to work weekends/holidays and have a flexible schedule.
Hours are dependent on weather and pool operation. 

Job Responsibilities & Duties

  1. Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
  2. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  3. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  4. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
  5. Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
  6. Prevents injuries and minimizing hazardous situations and documents incidents and injuries.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  8. Enforces all facility policies, rules and regulations
  9. Responds to patron concerns and inquiries in a professional manner

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.

Head Age Group Coach
The Edina Swim Club (ESC), is a level 4, silver medal club located in Edina, MN. ESC is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Age Group Coach.  This will be a leadership role in our Age Group Program. This position reports directly to the Edina Swim Club Head Coach.

BACKGROUND:  The Edina Swim Club trains at three 50 Meter facilities during the summer months and out of six different 25 Yard facilities throughout the year. The club hosts 6 meets during a normal swim year.  Edina is located in Hennepin County just southwest of Minneapolis.  The Edina Gators enjoy a reputation of success, both locally and nationally, and is recognized for its perennial leadership in Minnesota.  Edina High School has won 24 high school Swimming Championships between both the girls and boys teams.  Edina’s strong recruiting base and community support allows them to provide financially attractive and competitive coaching opportunities unmatched in the Midwest.

 DUTIES

  • Design quadrennial and seasonal plans for Age Group and Developmental programs
  • Plan Meet Schedules, Assistant and lead coaching practice and meet schedules, pool schedules
  • Execute strong communication skills with all age group members: newsletters, emails listing deadlines and special events on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Complete all daily work-outs on the OnDeck Application and maintain group attendance records
  • Responsible for meet entry deadlines, posting meet information, and all age group entries
  • Responsible for communicating group move ups at the end of each season
  • Mentor and Manage all lead and assistant age group coaches
  • Update TeamFeed on the OnDeck app – weekly(min)

  • Responsible for weekly age group staff meetings
  • Responsible for maintaining certifications and managing all staff certifications
  • Schedule and perform all annual evaluations for age group staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year College Degree (Required)
  • Competitive Swimming Experience (Required)
  • Ten years Swim Coaching Experience with at least five years in a leadership role (Required)
  • Have experience in dryland training for long-term athletic development (Required)
  • Have a working knowledge of Team Unify and Hy-Tek Software (Required)
  • Must be current in all requirements to be a USA Swimming member coach or ability to become certified within 2 months of hire. (Required)
  • Candidates must possess integrity, strong communications skills; and a passion for helping swimmers maximize their potential.

COMPENSATION: This is a Full-time position. Competitive pay for this position will range from 50,000 + commensurate with experience.

Assistant Coach
The Tosa Aquatic Club (TOSA), a USA competitive swim team, is seeking knowledgeable and energetic individuals for several Assistant Coach positions for a newly restructured and expanding team.  TOSA is based in Wauwatosa, a suburb of Milwaukee.  This is an hourly paid part-time position (approximately 4-12 hours per week, plus meets), dependent on experience. 

Job Description: 
TOSA Aquatic Club Assistant Coach is responsible for following the directives of the Head Coach and providing a safe, positive environment for our swimmers.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have a passion for competitive swimming
  • At least 1 year of coaching background preferred; Club coaching experience desired
  • Ability to coach all skill levels desired, with stronger background with the intermediate skill level
  • Strong knowledge of stroke and swimming technique
  • Available for 3-4 weeknight practices a week.  Practice times range from approximately 5:15pm-8:45pm during the school year.  Summer hours vary, but are typically mornings and early evenings.  We practice at 4 pools throughout the city.
  • Available to coach weekend club designated meets as assigned by Head Coach
  • Work with Head Coach to develop daily workout schedules – conduct daily practices; proven ability to write/modify practices for various levels of ability a plus
  • Ability to communicate with parents and swimmers and coach and motivate in a positive approach
  • Knowledge of Team Unify a plus
  • Ability to start almost immediately

Additional Qualifications:
The Aquatic Club – Head Coach must possess or be able to obtain Lifeguarding, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, and USA Swim certification within 60 days of hire.  Water Safety Instructor (W.S.I.) certification or equivalent experience/training preferred (instructor is responsible for updating and keeping certification current).  Must also be able to pass the USA Swimming background check prior to final hire.

Senior Assistant/Lead Group Coach
Elmbrook Swim Club is seeking a Senior Assistant/Lead Group Coach. The Senior Assistant/Lead Group Coach would work with and be directly responsible for 20-30 swimmers ages 13-18 who range from the Wisconsin Regional to Wisconsin State Championship level. Responsibilities will primarily be deck coaching at practices and competitions. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to season planning, meet entries, communication, and ongoing education. The Senior Assistant/Lead Group Coach will work under the direction of, closely with, and report directly to the Head Coach. The right applicant must be ready to work daily implementing the EBSC mission statement: “Empowering community members to achieve excellence in life through swimming.”

The Elmbrook Swim Club is a year-round 200+ member competitive program with a strong presence in the Wisconsin LSC and Central Zone with athletes consistently competing at a national level.  EBSC has a rich 50-year plus history and is striving for continued & expanded excellence in and out of the pool. Head Swim Team Coach
Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, and in accordance with the policies of the Stevens Point Area YMCA, the Head Swim Team Coach will oversee all competitive swimming program operations, ensure the safety of program participants, and provide direct member service. This position works independently under general direction and is expected to determine how to accomplish tasks.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills:

Education and Training: Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or a related field. Must be willing to acquire Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications along with all USA Swimming or YMCA related certifications within 90 days.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to easily move through all areas of our facility, and communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Must be able to routinely demonstrate proper competitive swimming techniques and perform functions to members and staff, including and not limited to squatting, bending, kneeling, and spotting program participants. Must be able to tolerate chlorine and temperatures up to 90 degrees with high humidity. Must be comfortable and able to work with children while swimming.

SCHEDULE: Full-time, exempt position; 40+ hours per week; flexible schedule based on swim team practice and meet schedules.

WAGE: $28,000 - $31,000 annual paid bi-weekly

North Shore Swim Club is seeking a Head Coach of its USS sanctioned, age group competitive swim team. Assistant Coaches
The Waunakee WAVE is a year-round competitive swim program located in Waunakee, WI. We are currently looking for one or two assistant coaches within our Developmental Age Group program and with our Age Group program. This position does have the opportunity to grow into a position with more hours and responsibility within the club. As a staff, we do not believe in measuring success in the short term, but rather by teaching an appreciation of the process.

We value commitment and accountability from each athlete in the path to individual success. We discuss often and fondly the future opportunities that this sport holds for our athletes, while making no secret of, or exception to, the demands required of this sport.

We emphasize a healthy balance of athletics, education and family, as shown by our meet schedule. We teach the importance of choice, sacrifice and accountability. We value communication from our athletes to their coaches and we emphasize the role of the athlete in each athlete’s success. The candidate must display a strong knowledge of current stroke techniques and is energetic and active on deck, enthusiastic about the opportunity and possess good communication skills. The assistant age-group positions consist of but are not limited to:

  • Assists the Head Coach and/or Head Developmental Coach in all areas as/where needed, when necessary.
  • Duties include but are not limited to:
    • Maintaining and continuing education to all athletes in his/her level about proper stroke technique.
    • Responsible for a comprehensive and thorough knowledge of proper stroke technique and execution.
    • Teaching and re-enforcing a strong understanding of training expectations and guidelines to all athletes in his/her level.
    • Responsible for all attendance records of all athletes.
    • Responsible for implementing any and all rules or guidelines regarding workout expectations as outlined in the Team Handbook.
    • If the candidate is the lead coach of a group they will act as primary contact to parents regarding any issues or concerns with any swimmer in his/her group while including the Head Coach in these issues.
    • Responsible for assisting coaches with the athlete selection, meet entries and event selections of his her athletes at each meet.
    • A thorough and precise ability to understand which of his/her athletes need to be maintained and which need to be moved up in order to ensure personal success of each athlete.
    • Must be able to show unwavering support and the belief in the program structure as a whole, the philosophies of the Head Coach, and be willing to assist in all areas whenever appropriate.
    • Must have the ability to disassociate from the personal successes of his/her athletes and recognize at any time his/her athletes may be moved around or out of his/her level at any time at the discretion of the Head Coach.

Coaches in this program have a combined 50 years in the sport and all levels ranging from instructional development to the National and Olympic levels. All coaches on this program are full-time and salaried with an investment in athletes across all levels. Coaches are involved to different degrees from our developmental groups through our Senior groups, while maintaining their focus within their respective primary group(s).  Candidates must have all USA Swimming Certifications including a Background Check, Athlete Protection Training, CPR/First Aid, Safety training and willing to get their Lifeguard Certification within 3 months of hiring.

Head Age Group Coach/Assistant Coach
Assistant Coach position available with the MoHo Gators Swim Team in the Madison, Wisconsin area.  The MoHo Gators are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic coach to help with or lead our 12 and under swimmers.

The MoHo Gators Swim Team is based out of Sauk City, and includes a year-round USA Swimming-affiliated team, a summer recreational team, and summer Masters and lessons programs.

Qualifications:

  • Must be current or become current on all USA Swimming Coach Membership requirements
  • Must have either coaching or competitive swimming experience
