MOUNT LEBANON AQUA CLUB (MLAC)
Swimming Director

Mount Lebanon Aqua Club is a competitive aquatics club in the south hills of Pittsburgh PA.
The MLAC Swimming Director provides administrative coaching support for the competitive age group
swimming programs, coordinates and directs swim meets, and works closely with the head MLAC coach.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the assessment of swimmers and assignment to fish groups (Piranhas, Stingrays Dolphins, Marlins, and Sharks).
  • Working with the VP of Instructional Programs and the VP of membership, establish the practice schedules for all fish groups.
  • Ensure all fish group and hourly coaches maintain all necessary training and certifications.
  • Working with the head coach, establish the club meet schedule.
  • Serve as the meet director for all MLAC hosted swim meets.
  • Fill in as assigned by the head coach for any of the fish group programs.
  • Provide parent education on swimming programs and meets.
  • Primary point of contact to member parents for questions regarding schedules, coaching, and any wet side concerns.
  • Coordinates all necessary volunteers to support swim practices and meets.
  • Coordinate long term athlete development programming including sessions with sport psychologists and nutritionists.
  • Maintain the MLAC website, tracking of coaches certifications, Team Unify data entry, and assist the Programs Director as needed with time cards and move ups for the Learn to Swim program.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the MLAC head coach.

Requirements:
To be successful in this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ten years experience as a high school and/or college swim coach.
  • Must possess and maintain American Red Cross First Aid and Lifeguard qualifications.
  • Must possess and maintain USA Swimming Safesport certification.
  • Must possess knowledge of the relevant USA Swimming and PIAA rules and regulations.
  • Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check.
  • Upon employment, the individual will be subject to a 90-day probationary period.
  • Additional Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:
  • Candidate should be eager to build the program & invest in student talent development year-round.

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school
  • administrators, opponents, staff, parents, and students.

MOUNT LEBANON AQUA CLUB (MLAC)
Hourly Swim Coach

Mount Lebanon Aqua Club (MLAC) is a competitive aquatics club in the south hills of Pittsburgh PA.

The hourly swim coach supports a developmental swimming program for all age group swimmers while working closely with the lead and head MLAC coaches. The hourly coach may also support the Mt Lebanon school district middle school and high school teams as directed by the MLAC head coach. The MLAC season runs from September through July.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, safety, and good sportsmanship.
  • Help create workouts.
  • Coordinate stroke and training principles throughout all levels.
  • Apply and enforce student and athlete discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property.
  • Take all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes, equipment, and facilities, including protecting students from hazing/bullying.
  • Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
  • Represent MLAC professionally.
  • Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the MLAC lead or head coaches.

Requirements:

  • To be successful in this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Four years experience as a high school varsity swimmer, experience as a college swimmer preferred.
  • Two years of coaching experience.
  • High school graduate/GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Must possess and maintain USA Swimming Safesport certification, complete a background check and be in good standing with USA Swimming.
  • Must possess knowledge of the relevant USA Swimming and PIAA rules and regulations.
  • Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check.
  • Upon employment, the individual will be subject to a 90-day probationary period.

Springboard Diving Coach

Mount Lebanon Aqua Club is a competitive aquatics club in the south hills of Pittsburgh PA.
The head coach manages a developmental diving program for ages 8-12 and a competitive diving
program for middle and high school aged athletes while working closely with the head MLAC and Mt.
Lebanon high school swim coach. The club diving coach also serves as the Mt Lebanon high school
diving coach.

Essential Responsibilities:

NORTHGATE AQUATICS CLUB (NGAC)
Assistant Coach

We are a USA Swimming Club in the Pittsburgh (Bellevue/Avonworth) area looking for a coach who will be able to coach our Fall/Winter Season. We are looking for a candidate who would like to stay with the program for long term. 

Runs from September to the end of March
Practices are in the evenings and are held at an indoor facility

Job Type:  Part-time

Pay:  $15.00 -$18.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule:  Monday to Friday (3 days a week) and Weekend meets

Education:  High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:  Experience as a competitive swimmer in a High school/Collegiate level is required.

Job Responsibilities   Include:

  • Help Guide and grow a USA Swimming program that produces the highest attainable levels as well as promoting positive enthusiasm around the sport of swimming for all levels of development.
    • Follow all USA Swimming guidelines and requirements.
    • Help to organize and direct swim practices with Head Coach and Assistant Coaches for all swimmers that is age, and developmentally appropriate, which allows swimmers of different abilities to reach their highest potential while considering all learning styles.
    • Help create workouts.
    • Coordinate stroke and training principles throughout all levels.
    • Help to set appropriate goals for groups and individual swimmers.
    • Help to ensure that all swim programs are synchronized to adequately prepare swimmers to successfully advance and transition to each higher level.

  • Foster positive relationships, communicate well with the coaching staff, swim team members, swim team parents.
    • Communicate professionally with coaches, athletes, and parents.
    • Communicate all parent and swimmer inquiries and complaints in a timely manner to Head Coach.
  • Demonstrating mature judgment, reliability, availability, and ethical behavior including punctuality, confidentiality, positive and constructive feedback, and the ability to function in a multi-task environment

NORTH HILLS AQUATICS (NHA)
Assistant Head Coach

North Hills Aquatics in Pittsburgh, PA is in search of a Head Assistant Swim Coach.  The Head Assistant Swim Coach will be responsible for the following areas, including but not limited to:

  • Independently running the Gold Performance squad – consisting of high performing 10- to 14-year-old athletes of mixed gender.
    • Creating 30-minute dryland routines and overseeing participation to ensure athlete safety, appropriate for the age and ability level of the members in the squad.
    • Designing 1 hour and 30-minute workouts that complement the head coach’s season plan for the team.
    • Be available to assist in coaching approximately one meet per month, depending on athlete participation.
  • Supervising the North Hills Aquatics Learn to Swim lesson program instructors.
    • Modifying existing lesson plans as necessary.
    • Program is currently held on Saturday mornings but open to change based on schedule.
  • Supervising lifeguards during community swim (two nights per week) and responsible for cash collected during community swim.
  • Creating meets in Team Unify and submitting entries timely at required deadlines.
  • Help plan and coordinate North Hills Aquatics team hosted meets and events
  • Enforce team, LSC, and USA Swimming Codes of Conduct.

The Head Assistant Swim Coach must have or be willing and able to obtain all USA Swimming certifications and coaching requirements (CPR, Coaches Safety, Background checks, etc.)

The Head Assistant Coach should have experience with or be willing to learn HyTek software and hardware to help facilitate meet administration.

The Head Assistant Swim Coach should be a team player, who works well collaboratively, and participates actively with fellow coaching staff.  The Head Assistant Coach should be open to working alongside the Head Coach when designing workouts and be willing to implement new drills and sets in an effort to prepare the Gold Performance squad for advancement to the Senior Performance squad.

Salary is commensurate with experience and Board approval.

Responsibilities Include……

Responsibilities include providing oversight of the training of all groups of the Bethel Park Rec Swim Team. The supervision and mentoring of all BPR coaches, and communication with staff, board members, parents, swimmers and other entities.  The head coach works collaboratively with the board to grow and promote the BPR club and the sport of swimming in and around surrounding communities.

  • Use up to date training methods to incorporate into swim workouts
  • Write and instruct dryland workouts
  • Collaborates with coaches on swim and dryland workouts

Assistant Coach

Hampton Dolphins, an AMS swimming club, is seeking hourly assistant coaches for our upcoming 2022-2023 USA Swimming season. The candidate(s) should be ready to start in September 2022.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive environment for young swimmers getting started in the sport of swimming
  • Work with the head coach to provide proper technical instruction of strokes and skills to the athletes.

South Hills Aquatics is currently seeking motivated individuals who are interested in working as Head or Assistant coaches as we get our program back in action at our new facility, Thomas Jefferson High School, which is a beautiful 8 lane pool in Jefferson Hills, PA.   

Interested applicants are expected to:

  • Be able to create and implement developmentally appropriate workouts and be able to work with swimmers of all ages and ability level
  • be very technique oriented in all aspects of competitive swimming from developmental to advanced swimmers
  • possess strong communication and leadership skills with children as well as adults
  • be able to write and implement developmentally appropriate swim workouts that motivate athletes at all levels
  • have experience in swim software or have a willingness to learn
  • have all necessary USA Swimming and District certifications or be willing to get them in a timely manner
  • be responsible for coaching swimmers at swim meets and invitationals during weekends

Practice times are in the evenings from 5:30pm-7:30 pm or 7:00pm -9:00pm with meets on weekends.   Applicants must meet all certification requirements required by AMS or willing to acquire certifications.  Hourly wage based on experience.
