LOWER MORELAND SWIMMING AND DIVING
Head Coach

Lower Moreland Swimming and Diving (LMOR), based in Lower Moreland, PA, is seeking applications for the position of Head Swim Coach. The ideal candidate will continue to guide and grow a year-round age group aquatics program as well as promote positive enthusiasm around the sport of swimming for all levels of development. The Head Coach will foster positive relationships and communicate well with their coaching staff, swim team members and parents, and the Board of Directors.

About LMOR
LMOR competes in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and USA Swimming (Middle Atlantic LSC).   The club has around 200 swimmers throughout its various swim levels and trains out of Lower Moreland High School in a 6-lane, 25-yard pool. LMOR is a parent-managed organization with a dedicated and passionate Board of Directors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all levels of swimming, setting goals and developing training plans for all groups
  • Provide coaching that is technically, age, and developmentally appropriate
  • Serves as primary coach for LMOR’s two highest training levels
  • Proactively establish and maintain good swim team parent relations which includes providing appropriate levels of access and communication
  • Plan team practice and meet schedules, including coach scheduling and meet entry assignments/line-ups
  • Recruit, retain, supervise and mentor effective coaching staff; observes practices and provides feedback to staff; plans and directs monthly staff meetings 
  • Attend scheduled meets. In the event of meet conflicts, attends highest level of competition
  • Serve as a non-voting member of the LMOR Board and attends all monthly board meetings
  • Maintain a healthy professional relationship with the Board, collaborating on strategic planning, marketing, vision, goals, fundraising endeavors, and other key initiatives
  • Attend SAL and USA Swimming meetings as necessary
  • Utilize social media to promote the organization and engage with current and prospective families
  • Maintain team database for times and records in addition to practice records
  • Pursue training, certifications, and continuing development as they relate to the program and position responsibilities

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of swim coaching experience
  • Current USA Swimming Coach Certification (in good standing) and preferably have Level 3 ASCA certification
  • A passion for the sport and ability to work with swimmers with varying ability/commitment levels
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and management skills
  • Working knowledge of Hy-Tek Team Manager and Meet Manager, in addition to TeamUnify (or other similar platform)
  • 4-year college degree preferred

GROVE CITY COLLEGE
ASSISTANT MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING COACH

Grove City College announces an opening in the Athletics department for an Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Coach. This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in the development of, leading, and organizing all facets of an NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving program, knowledge of and adherence to NCAA and Presidents’ Athletic Conference rules. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, season planning, practice preparation and implementation, individual skill work and assessment, meet management, social media, parent and alumni relationship development, fostering a Christian environment, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or the head coach.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree.  Competing as a varsity swimmer at the collegiate level, coaching experience and familiarity with Hy-Tek Meet Manager and Team Manager software are preferred.

NORTH HILLS AQUATICS
AGE GROUP COACH

North Hills Aquatics in Pittsburgh, PA is searching for an age-group coach to coach our Bronze group program.  The position is part-time, 4 days a week in the evenings at North Hills High School. Meet coaching opportunities are also available. The anticipated start date is September 6, 2021.

Responsibilities

  • Attend daily workouts and swim meets.
  • Develop and implement daily training plans for the group.
  • Teach and train the swimmers in proper stroke techniques as appropriate for the age and developmental level of the program.
  • Prepare, approve, and submit swimmers’ meet entries.
  • Develop and maintain healthy relationships with the swimmers and their parents.
  • Participate fully in practices including both dryland and in-water activities.
  • Recommend practice level placement and changes for all swimmers currently in Bronze group.
  • Assist other coaches/instructors as needed and communicate regularly with the coaching staff.
  • Maintain daily attendance records for the group.

Qualifications include:

  • One-year competitive swim coaching experience (preferred)
  • Competitive swimming experience (preferred)
  • Energetic, patient and gives simple instructions.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current in USA Swimming required certifications (CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection, Concussion Protocol Training, Background check, Coaches Advantage Training, Foundations of Coaching) or the ability to obtain the certifications.

SENECA VALLEY SWIM CLUB
PART TIME COACHES

Seneca Valley Swim Club (SVSC) is a non-profit, 100+ member, competitive USA affiliated swim team. SVSC has 100+ swimmers and operates out of a new Aquatic Center located on the Seneca Valley High School Campus in Harmony, PA.

SVSC is seeking qualified applicants for

  • A Part time Age Group Coach position
    The applicant must be willing to work evenings (practices are held during the 5:00-8:00 pm time frame), and work weekend USA swimming meets approximately 1-2 weekends per month.

     
  • Part time Substitute/Fill in Coach positions
    The applicant must be willing to work 1-2 evenings or on a Substitute bases. This would be a position for someone who wants to coach occasionally but not necessarily on a consistent basis.

Coaches will primarily work with swimmers ages 8-14 but should be able to coach all age groups. The interested applicant should have prior experience and be willing to coach under the direction and philosophy of SVSC Head Coach Brian Blackwell. Candidates must have (or be willing to obtain) USA Swimming Coaches Certification (which includes Safety Training for Swim Coaches, CPR, First Aid), and up to date background checks (per USA Swimming guidelines).

Compensation is hourly, part time and is commensurate with experience.

Shaler Area Swim Club (SASC) is seeking a part-time Head Age Group Swim Coach to compliment our year-round competitive swim staff. We are an AMS and USA Swimming affiliated team. Job Summary:

  • USA Swimming Coach certification is required. Lifeguard and CPR Certification is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Working flexible hours including nights and weekends, and attending swim meets; coordinates with coaching staff meet and practice coverage
  • Ability to coach in the mornings 8-10am during the months of June, July and August and 5:00-7:30pm during the months of September through March (Monday through Friday) as well as participate in team meets on weekends throughout the swim season. Approx.10-15 hours per week.

PITTSBURGH ELITE AQUATICS – SOUTH (PEAQ)
ASSISTANT COACH

Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics (PEAQ) is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach for its growing coaching staff.  PEAQ is a growing, competitive swim club for swimmers ages 6-18 with locations at Canon McMillian HS, Chartiers Valley HS, Upper St Clair HS, and the University of Pittsburgh.  PEAQ is a member of USA Swimming and offers a year-round competitive swim program for swimmers of all abilities.  This position is specifically for the PEAQ South Hills locations.   

An opportunity exists for the right candidate to be an Assistant Varsity Coach at one of our South Hills high schools.

Position Summary

The Assistant Swim Coach will be responsible for the following:

  • Coaching assigned groups across all South Hills locations as scheduled
  • Working with our site-specific head coaches to implement assigned workouts
  • Working with swimmers to improve their training habits and technical skills
  • Coaching at swim meets as scheduled
  • Attending mandatory coaches meetings/training sessions as scheduled

Minimum Requirements

  • College swimming experience and/or past coaching experience preferred
  • Availability afternoons/weeknights/weekends (our senior groups start as early as 2:30PM; age groups typically start as early as 5PM).
  • Applicants will be required to obtain PA Clearances to work with children and must pass a USA Swimming Background Check
  • Applicants must be able to obtain USA Swimming Coach Membership prior to coaching
  • Current First Aid/CPR certifications
  • Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to positively interact with parents and children
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License
  • Note, assistant varsity high school coaching positions are separate job opportunities that will be hired directly by the local school district and not PEAQ.

Salary – $15-$20 per hour depending on experience

Time Commitment – This position is part-time and runs from September through July.  Ideal candidate will be available at least 10 hours per week for practices and at least 2 weekends per month for meets.

PITTSBURGH ELITE AQUATICS – SOUTH (PEAQ)
SWIM LESSON COORDINATOR

Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics (PEAQ) is seeking a Swim Lesson Coordinator to promote, manage, and operate our growing swim lesson program in the South Hills.  PEAQ has three South Hills locations, Canon McMillan HS, Chartiers Valley HS and Upper St. Clair HS.  PEAQ is looking to expand its swim lesson offerings at Chartiers Valley and this position will be primarily based at that site. An assistant coaching option on our competitive swim team staff is also a possibility for those interested candidates.

Position Summary

The Swim Lesson Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Scheduling swim lesson programs at the Chartiers Valley HS site
  • Managing swim lesson registration online via our Team Unify website
  • Promoting swim lessons at all three South Hills sites
  • Hiring and managing swim lesson instructors (typically middle school/high school swimmers from our swim club) – PEAQ staff will assist with hiring procedures and paperwork
  • Teaching swim lessons both on deck and in the water as needed

If interested in coaching the competitive swim team, additional duties as follows:

  • Coach assigned groups across all South Hills locations as scheduled
  • Work with coaching staff to implement assigned workouts
  • Work with swimmers to improve their training habits and technical skills
