 AMS ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

Allegheny Mountain Swimming Inc. (AMS), the Local Swimming Committee (LSC) of USA Swimming, is currently seeking an Administrative Coordinator to handle the day-to-day office operations for the LSC consisting of member athletes, coaches, officials, board members, and other volunteers.

This is a dynamic position with fluctuating levels of effort throughout the year based on the swimming calendar.  This is the only paid position within the organization and this role serves as the face of the organization in addition to being the clearinghouse, coordinator, and information source for AMS members and clubs.

Duties to include but are not limited to, bookkeeping, maintaining relationships with AMS members and vendors, communications including webmaster, team and non-athlete registrations, annual planning, input for annual budgeting, and meetings virtually and in person.  Some travel may be required. Microsoft Office experience and QuickBooks experience is required; experience with web-based programs provided by USA Swimming is preferred.   

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the sport of swimming, be a self-starter, forward thinker, well organized, ability to multi-task, highly motivated, with good phone and interpersonal skills, and focused on support of AMS athletes and operations. 

An office is not provided, so the candidate must be able to work from home to complete the duties of this position. AMS offers travel reimbursement, expense reimbursement, office supply reimbursement, a laptop computer and cell phone.

Salary is based on experience and competitive with other similar positions. This is a 36-to-38-hour weekly average position with up to 3 weeks of paid vacation plus federal holidays.  May need to work some evenings.

Candidate must be or willing to become a registered USA Swimming Non-Athlete member and must pass a background check and drug screening as a condition of employment. 

Job performance will be reviewed at intervals over the first year and annually thereafter to ensure that feedback is being provided regularly.  This position reports to the AMS Administrative Vice Chair and interacts with other members of the LSC leadership including the Financial Vice Chair and Treasurer.
