Interval training is introduced as well as endurance. Proper technique remains an important factor in all training groups of the Swim Team. Although all practices are not mandatory, it is useful to attend as many as possible. We recommend swimmers attend at least 3 practices every week and compete in meets once a month.
Swimmers will need fins, a pull buoy, kickboard, snorkel, and water bottle. They should be prepared to do dryland (sneakers, t-shirt, shorts, etc.) everyday, but we will not do dryland everyday.
Move Up Requirements:
Practices circle swimming & lane etiquette
Know basic intervals (:15, :30, :45, 1:00)
Streamlines off all walls
300 yards Continuous Freestyle
6x50 yards Freestyle Swim @ 1:00
200 yards legal IM
6x50 yards Free kick @ 1:30
- All strokes are legal
