Head Coach Alex Richardson brings over twenty years of competitive swimming experience to the Westchase Branch of the Tampa Bay Aquatic Club and believes swimming is a lifetime sport that positively effects swimmers overall athletic and personal development.
Coach Alex began his swimming career in the Tampa Bay Area in 1998 and was a member of West Florida Lightning Aquatics (WFLA) before moving to the Central Florida area in 2000 where he was a member of Patriot Aquatics for the remainder of his career. During his competitive swimming career, Coach Alex competed at the highest level within Florida Swimming and FHSAA throughout his time as a swimmer where he was a four year state qualifier and finalist.
In 2005, Alex decided to turn his passion for swimming toward others and began working as an Assistant Age Group Coach for Patriot Aquatics (PA) from 2005-2008. During this time, Coach Alex worked with developmental and novice athletes who were engaging in competitive swimming for the first time.
In 2008, Alex joined Tampa Bay Aquatics (TBAY) as an Assistant Coach and became a Head Branch Coach for TBAY in Westchase in 2012. During this time Coach Alex helped to evolve the Westchase Competitive Swimming Program developing multiple FLAG and Senior Championship Finalists, FHSAA State Finalists, National Level Qualifiers and NCAA Collegiate Scholarship Recipients .
Coach Alex is a Co-Founding Member and Co-Head Coach of the Tampa Bay Aquatic Club (TBAC) which was established in 2018. The Tampa Bay Aquatic Club strives to become the leading name in competitive swimming in the Tampa Bay Area and the State of Florida.
Coach Alex believes that hard work, leadership, respect and teamwork are all essential in providing a safe, fun and healthy environment for swimmers of all ages to enhance their aquatic abilities and to achieve their goals, and is looking forward to growing one of the best competitive programs in the Tampa Bay Area and across the state of Florida.
Assistant Coach Jordan Richardson has over a fifteen years in competitive swimming experience and brings a long time child-care and youth swim instruction background to the Westchase Branch of Tampa Bay Aquatics
Coach Jordan began her swimming career with her brother at Patriot Aquatics where she spent her age group swimming career. As an Age Grouper, she was a Florida Swimming Junior Olympic, Senior Championship and Sectional Qualifier. In the high school arena, Coach Jordan was a four year Varsity Swimmer and earned District and Regional Championships, was 3A State Finalist as well as a High School All American during her four years representing Lake Brantley High School. Also, at Lake Brantley, Coach Jordan was a 3 year varsity Water Polo Player where she was a District Champion and State Qualifier.
At the collegiate level, Coach Jordan attended Florida Atlantic University where she competed throughout all four years of her career while studying Elementary Education. During her time as a FAU Owl, she was a Sun Belt Conference Finalist and named Most Improved Female Swimmer.
At TBAC Westchase, Coach Jordan assists in all level of competitive swimming and has developed Florida Age Group Swimming Qualifiers and Finalists. She is also instrumental in managing and teaching in the Westchase Community Learn To Swim Lesson Program.
