Group Description

Bronze Stars:

  • Novice team
  • Entry level group for the competitive swim team
  • Ages 10 & under
  • Swimmer must be able to swim 25 yards without stopping.
  • Three 60- to 90-minute practices per week (including 15-minute dryland)
  • Attend a minimum of 2 practices per week
  • The emphasis will be learning all four competitive strokes, turns, and starts.

 

 

Silver Stars:

  • Advanced team
  • Swimmers in this group will continue focus on perfecting stroke technique and endurance training
  • Ages 9 to 13
  • Swimmer must be able to perform all 4 strokes legally, perform a racing start and flip turns
  • Four 90- to 105-minute practices per week (including 15-minute dryland)
  • Attend a minimum of 3 practices per week
  • The emphasis will be placed on stroke development, racing skills and increasing endurance
  • Swimmers move up to this level by coach’s recommendation only

 

 

Gold Stars:

  • Junior team
  • This group is for age group swimmers
  • Swimmer in this group will have higher intensity training while continuing to perfect stroke technique, flip turns and racing stars
  • Ages 8 to 14
  • Must have at least 1-year competitive USA Swimming experience
  • Five 90- to 120-minute practices per week (including 30-minute dryland or stretching)
  • Attend a minimum of 4 practices per week
  • We encourage our swimmers to attend swim meets once a month
  • Swimmers move up to this level by coach’s recommendation only

 

 

Platinum Stars:

  • Senior team
  • This group is for all high school, college swimmers
  • Ages 13 & up
  • Six 105- to 135-minute practices per week (including 30-minute dryland or stretching)
  • Attend a minimum of 5 practices per week
  • Attends all competitions designated by coaching staff (from local meets to highest level meets such as state and national meets)
  • Swimmers move up to this level by coach’s recommendation only
