Sarasota Tsunami Masters Swimming's adult learn-to-swim program now at two pools
Sarasota Tsunami Masters Swimming offers adult learn-to-swim lessons at Arlington Park Pool (2650 Waldemere St.) and The R.L. Taylor Community Center Complex (1845 34th St.) U.S. Masters Swimming certified instructor and Tsunami Masters coach Jeff Waddle leads the sessions.
The classes are aimed at adult-beginner swimmers, ages 18-plus. Instruction follows the U.S. Masters Swimming adult learn-to-swim curriculum, which focuses on helping the student be safer in the water and teaching the student to swim, at a minimum, one length of the 25-yard pool.
Class size is limited, and advanced registration is required. The 6-week sessions cost $60.
Scholarships are available through grant support from the USMS Swimming Saves Lives Foundation. If the cost of lessons is a barrier to your learning to swim, please ask about a scholarship.
The next session of classes at Arlington pool begin June 1 and run on Saturdays at noon.
The next sessions of classes at RLT begin June 4 and will run Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30.
