Q: How do you sign up for meets or competitions?
A: If you visit the team web site, there is a page to sign up online from the “Events” Navigation button on the top banner. Make sure to enter each day you will be attending. To receive an email confirmation enter your email address. You may click (HERE) to go there now and see the list of upcoming meets.
Q: Cold Weather Policy?
A: If the air temperature is below 40 degrees, there will be no swim practice.
Q: Lightning Policy?
A: All swimmers will clear the pool and go to a specified location to wait until the storm passes. After the last lightning strike we will wait 30 minutes before returning to the pool. All athletes will be secure in the locker rooms.
TPA has a new inclement weather system called Weather Bug. Our system measures the Lightning activity in clouds from a range of 6 miles.
Please down load this Widget to your phone and it will tell you the duration of the practice delay and how far the lightning is detected from the swim pool. The countdown is 30 minutes unless there is another lightning strike detected and then the system resets itself to 30 minutes
This may help to alleviate any phone calls to the office and staff.
