Valdosta Aquatics develops young and adult athletes using the principles of sport culture, swimming techniques, good sportsmanship, healthy living, social responsibility, and excellence because swimming is a life-long sport.
VAST strives to be a full-service, progressive age-group and masters USA Swimming club that serves South Georgia community through quality instruction and competitive opportunities at the developmental, regional, state, and national levels.
To fulfill this philosophy, Valdosta Aquatics provides several practice groups to meet swimmers' needs. The following is a summary of these groups. To read a more thorough descriptions, please select "Group Descriptions" under the Club Info tab on the top menu bar.
This is our entry level group. This is a Swim For Fun (SFF) group that mixes technique and games to develop the basic skills of competitive swimming. There is no attendance minimum for practices or competitions with group although attending is highly encouraged.
Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, start and turn technique and having fun. There is no attendance minimum for practices or competitions with group although attending is highly encouraged. Minimum training sets must be accomplished to qualify for this group.
This group is exposed to training for the first time to prepare for longer competitive races. There is a balance between training for competition and continuing to develop technique in all aspects of stroke, turns and races. Swimmers are expected to attend four competitions per season. Minimum training sets must be accomplished to qualify for this group.
Minimum age for entry into this group is normally 12 (girls) or 13 (boys). Athletes entering the senior development group must display a strong desire to perform at competitive meets. Training is geared towards developing individual talents with strong focus on proper technique and aerobic power. Swimmers are expected to attend at least four practices per week and most competitions. Minimum training sets must be accomplished to qualify for this group.
Minimum age for entry into this group is normally 12 (girls) or 13 (boys). Athletes entering the senior group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level of which they are capable. Training is geared towards developing individual talents with strong focus on all aspects of development: technique, aerobic endurance, flexibility, anaerobic power, and muscular endurance. Swimmers are expected to attend at least five practices per week and all competitions. Minimum training sets must be accomplished to qualify for this group.
This group is for adult swimmers of any ability level who want to development stroke technique. An athlete needs to be able to swim in order to join this group. This group mixes technique and training to develop the competitive swimming skills as well as developing a community of swimmers that support and encourage each other.
Fee and Dues Schedule
The following is the fee and dues schedule for Valdosta Aquatics. Fees are paid prior to the first practice. Dues are paid monthly, depending on the swimmer's group.
Initial Registration Fee: $50.00
Yearly Registration Renewal Fee: $25.00 (Billed each September)
Yearly USA Swimming Membership Fee: $76.00
Bronze - $75.00/month
Silver - $95.00/month
Gold - $115.00/month
Senior Development - $135.00/month
Seniors - $150.00/month
Masters - $60.00/month

2nd highest level swimmer pays -10% (90%)
3rd highest level swimmer pays -20% (80%)
