NEW SWIM GROUPS

Super

  • Generally ages 8 and under
  • 3-4 days of practice suggested per week for 1 hour per day
  • Must be able to swim 25 free & 25 back
  • Focus on stroke development
  • Required to attend at least one home meet
  • Required equipment: team suit, Speedo Jr. Kickboard, Speedo Jr. Pull Buoy, Fins (Speedo Short Blade or Speedo Switchblade or Speedo Biofuse), water bottle
  • Optional equipment: swim socks to be used with fins

Futures

  • Generally ages 7-11
  • 4-5 practices suggested per week for 1.5 hours per day
  • Focus on both stroke instruction and development
  • Develop relationship between training and stroke mastery
  • Required to attend all home meets
  • Required equipment: team suit, Speedo Jr. Kickboard, Speedo Jr. Pull Buoy, Paddles (Speedo PreFlex or Speedo Clutch or Speedo Power Paddle Plus), Fins (Speedo Short Blade or Speedo Switchblade or Speedo Biofuse), Speedo Bullet Head Snorkel, water bottle
  • Recommended: mesh equipment bag
  • Optional equipment: swim socks to be used with fins

Challenge

  • Generally ages 10-15
  • 5 practices suggested per week for 2 hours per day
  • Focus on stroke mastery
  • Introduction to the importance of training
  • Competition and development of racing skills
  • Required to attend all home meets and Championship meets
  • Required equipment: team suit, Speedo Kickboard, Speedo Pull Buoy, Paddles (Speedo PreFlex or Speedo Clutch or Speedo Power Paddle Plus), Fins (Speedo Short Blade or Speedo Switchblade or Speedo Biofuse), Speedo Bullet Head Snorkel, water bottle

Performance

  • Generally ages 13 and older
  • Focus on achievement and Stroke Refinement
  • 6 practice days suggested per week for 2 hours per day
    • Morning practices offered
  • Increased emphasis on training
  • Competition and achievement is stressed
  • Required to attend all home meets and championship meets
  • Required equipment: team suit, Speedo  Kickboard, Speedo Pull Buoy, Paddles (Speedo PreFlex or Speedo Clutch or Speedo Power Paddle Plus), Fins (Speedo Short Blade or Speedo Switchblade or Speedo Biofuse), Speedo Bullet Head Snorkel, Tempo Trainer, yoga mat,water bottle

High School Performance

  • Must be a freshman in high school or older
  • Practice 4 days per week for 1.5 hours per day
  • No morning practice
  • Focus on fitness and stroke technique
  • Preferred attendance at ASL Home meets
  • Required equipment: team suit, Speedo Kickboard, Speedo Pull Buoy, Paddles (Speedo PreFlex or Speedo Clutch or Speedo Power Paddle Plus), Fins (Speedo Short Blade or Speedo Switchblade or Speedo Biofuse), Speedo Bullet Head Snorkel, Tempo Trainer, yoga mat, water bottle, Speedo Ventilator Deluxe Mesh Bag

Select

  • Preference is given to Sectional, Futures and Jr National Qualifiers (and at coaches discretion)
  • 6 days per week for 2 hours per day
    • Morning practices offered
    • Supplemental dryland training provided through Bridge Athletics (additional fee)
  • Emphasis is on achievement at the Sectional, Zone and National level
  • Stroke refinement stressed
  • Training geared towards high-level achievement
  • Attendance Policy in place to remain part of the Select group
  • Required to attend all home meets, championship meets and all qualifying meets
