Thank you!

2020 Stingrays/USA Swimming Swim-A-Thon: October 12 week  Details forthcoming

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS at CCAC
This is our Stingrays' plan for coming and going at practices due to Covid-19 and our team-wide awareness. These protocols are our Team's policies and they reflect recommendations from USA Swimming and our facilities. The longer we remain healthy and promote healthy practices and meets, the longer we can enjoy this awesome privilege of swimming together.

1. When you arrive, go to your designated entry to have your temperature taken by your coach. Your group may or may not have a Warm Up To Swim (WUTS) routine going on. Either way, proper social distancing is required before entering the building.

2. LAPS parents and carpool driversLike all groups swimming now, you may be asked to stay outside of the pool during the practices. A LAPS coach will meet swimmers before practice outside, to lead the group into the facility. If necessary, you may accompany your LAPS swimmer to the pool deck for the first day. Please wear a mask inside the facility.  CCAC is now permitting bleacher seating with masks and distancing.

3. Wear your mask when entering AND leaving the facilitiesStingrays have their own masks and you may purchase one (or a couple) by emailing coachpike@stingraysswimming.com. We are requiring masks as we have families with high risk households AND we share the public facilities with all ages and demographics. "Training 4 Life" means caring for the physical and emotional well being of others...even if we aren't particularly in high risk groups.

4. Use of locker rooms restricted to "potty breaks" and not prolonged changing, especially after practice.  Please come to practice with your suit on, ready to go!

CCAC CHRISTMAS / NEW YEAR PRACTICE 2019-2020

Cherokee County schools begin a holiday break on Friday, December 20

The schedule of practices for CCAC Senior, Youth, & Age Group during the school break is simple: Practices will be at REGULAR TIMES, Monday through Saturday, excluding: Dec. 24/25 Christmas Eve (Tues.) and Christmas Day (Wed.); also excluding Dec. 31 New Year's Eve (Tues.) and New Year's Day (Wed.). The aquatic center is closed those days, so totally no practice those days. If there are other changes to the schedule expect an email.

Traveling?

The best thing to do... Traveling during the school break? Great! But, don't stay out of the water! The best thing to do is go to www.usaswimming.org and click their "Find a Team" function. There you can put in the zip code of your destination and find a team closest to you while you are away. This is the best choice as it broadens our swimmer's experience and provides the necessary impetus to practice with best efforts.

The next best thing to do... If you cannot find a team nearby, find a pool (YMCA, etc). Then, once you know the pool's operating hours, you can go there to swim. Email me and I can forward to you the actual practice your group is doing. coachlarry@stingraysswimming.com

The worst thing to do... You can probably guess what’s the worst thing to do over the holidays...not swim at all. All the dry land in the world can't make up for 2 1/2 weeks off, and then it takes weeks to get back to where you left off. If you have questions, please let me know.

Keep swimming RAYS!

-Coach Larry

October 31, Thursday NO PRACTICE for YOUTH & AGE GROUP levels. Keep Halloween fun.
