Novice and Bronze (Pre-Competitive) Groups
Spring/Summer Season: February 19-June 29
Practices: Tuesday/Thursday 4:15-4:45

Who is this group for: Swimmers ages 5/over who can swim 25 yards freestyle with proper side breathing, and 25 backstroke.
In Novice practices we will have fun improving efficiency and endurance in Freestyle, Backstroke, and dolphin (butterfly) kick. Swimmers will strive to consistently streamline off walls, and master shallow sitting and knee dives.
Requirements to advance to Bronze: Coaches will make a recommendation for advancement to the Bronze group when a swimmer consistently performs the following with proper technique; swim 50 yards of freestyle, backstroke and side glide drill, streamline proficiency off all walls, perform shallow crouching dives and somersaults in water.
Introduction to competitive swimming
Spring/Summer Season February 19-June 29
Practices - swimmers are welcome, but not required, to attend all four practices each week. 2-3 practices a week is ideal
Bronze - Monday through Thursday 4:45-5:30
Coaches: Sarie, Sylvia, and Jane
Who is this group for: Swimmers who consistently perform the following with proper technique; swim 50 yards of freestyle (with bilateral breathing), backstroke and side glide drill, streamline proficiency off all walls, perform shallow crouching dives and somersaults in water.
Swimmers ages 6/over will continue to work on freestyle and backstroke efficiency and endurance and learn breaststroke, butterfly, all competitive turns and starts.
Swimmers will be instructed on:
Body balance in the water; front, sides and back.
Streamlining skills to move faster before even taking a stroke.
Proper breathing for competitive swimming.
Proper technique for Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly
Introduction to competitive starts and turns.
Sportsmanship, work ethic, confidence in oneself, and team.
