John Doolin : My son Aidan has been swimming for BBSC for 4 years. Of those 4 years I have been an official for 3 and a board member for 1 year. I enjoy being a part of this club and helping any way that I can. If elected I will take the opportunity to raise more money from sponsorships , growing our team and supporting a family first atmosphere for our swimmers.
Laci Erickson: has been a members of the current 2019-2020 board for BBSC. She and her husband Chad are local business owners (4 Jimmy John’s Franchises) and have lived in the community since 2001. Her three children are all Dolphins and have loved being involved in the program.
Bonnie Lewis: As a lifelong member of the Kankakee Area, born and raised in Chebanse, IL. I grew up participating in many youth sports and area activities. While I grew up playing basketball and softball and had never really been introduced to competitive swim, I can honestly say it's a sport I've quickly grown to love. I strongly feel organized sports and club participation lay such a positive foundation for social development and have the opportunity to teach valuable life skills that kids can apply throughout their lives. My daughter, Jamison, joined the BBSC in the fall of 2018 at six years old after we had tried many activities over the course of two years to find something she really enjoyed. Swimming was a natural fit for her as she always has taken to water. Instantly she started to display signs of drive and determination to work harder and improve. This was something we had not seen in all the other sports and activities she had tried. In an instant it seems I became a swim mom. In the short year and a half our family has been part of the BBSC we have seen what a positive impact it has had on not only our family but so many other families as well. Jamison and our younger daughter, Jordyn, have made new friends and we’ve gotten to know so many great families in the process. When asked if I would fill in a vacant seat late this fall on the Board I was excited to jump at the opportunity to become more involved in the club. The swim club’s success is something that I feel very passionately about. In addition to our families involvement with the BBSC, I currently coach coed youth basketball at the Kankakee YMCA and previously was an assistant coach for the Bishop McNamara H.S. girls basketball team many years ago. I also participate in the RiversidePULSE Program where I and other young area professionals meet quarterly to share ideas and learn about various areas of professional development and community involvement. My husband, Scott and I live in Chebanse, IL with our daughters Jamison and Jordyn and we own and operate two businesses, ADL Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. and Ken’s Truck Repair, Inc. My roll with both companies is to oversee financial operation as well as handle the marketing and human resources, all of which have taught me many skills that I feel would be an asset to being on any board of directors. I would love another opportunity to sit on the Bradley Bourbonnais Swim Club board so that I may help in any and all necessary aspects of the continued success of the organization. Thank you for your consideration.
Amy McCrary: Our family joined the BBSC in the summer season of 2018. It has always been my nature to just jump in and help out where needed. The team was no different, I have always chosen to volunteer vs sit the bleachers. I feel strongly about parent involvement. As the years have gone on and I have seen what a great club this is it seems only fitting that my next step would be to join the board and continue to help this team grow and build on what has already been accomplished. I have served on our Parish Council at church for 3 years and now help run the office there. I am self-employed full-time hair stylist of 20 years, a wife and of course mom of 2 girls. It would be my privilege and honor to serve on the BBSC board for the upcoming season.
Jeremy Sheely: I am seeking a board position so that I can help to continue the mission and goals of this quality program. I look forward to opportunities to further develop, promote and grow the Dolphins. From the bio below, I feel my experiences may help the needs of the club and board. I am currently the Residential Director for Kankakee County Training Center, where I coordinate services and programing to over 60 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I am also the co-owner of Sweet Connections of Kankakee and I serve as Treasurer on the board. Along with having logged a lot of time on the pool deck as a timer, I have over 20 years of indirect experience and exposure with swimming. My wife is Jana Sheely, a former swimmer and current swim and water polo coach, and my son Grant has been a swimmer with BBSC for the last 4 seasons.
Tony Swafford: I've completed 17 years as a high school science teacher (12 here at BBCHS) and have coached youth athletics for 21 years. I am impressed by the way the board and coaches have created an environment of success and I would only look to keep that going. As a current HS coach, rec league coach, and educator I feel I can bring a large knowledge base to the board as the board and coaches continue to make the Fins a great youth organization.
Carrie Tapp: I have completed 1 year on the BBSC board and board secretary. I have also completed a year as a BBSC AO. My family has been part of the swim program for 4 years now. The family atmosphere is what keeps us with the dolphins. My goal for serving on the board is to continue to build a family friendly environment for all. I would love to continue to serve on this board.
