Time Standards

Time Standards

Qualification time standards are set by the various governing bodies that come under the umbrella of USA Swimming. Championship meets require swimmers meet or exceed these standards. Regionals, Senior and Age Group State time standards are updated annually at the ISI meeting and are usually posted in October of each year.

Illinois Swimming 2019 Age Group Championships (Regional & State)

Illinois Swimming 2019 Summer Senior Championships (Regional & State)

These are used to qualify for Illinois Regional and State Championship Meets.

Athletes may qualify with either Long Course(50M) or Short Course(25Y) times that meet the standard and were performed within the championship meet qualifying time period.

National Motivational Time Standards (2017-2020)

These are National age group time standards designed to encourage swimmers to set goals and step their swimming up to the next level.

Certain meets will also require athletes to have met some of these times to enter.

Check out our page all about the National Motivational Times.

NCSA Junior National Championships (March & August 2019)

2018 Speedo Winter Junior Championships (December 2018)

2019 Speedo Junior National Championships (August 2019)

Phillips 66 National Championships (August 2019)

U.S. Olympic Team Trials (June 2020)

These are the qualifying times used for USA Swimming's National level meets.

You can find the required times for the entry level national meets ("Speedo Sectionals") all the way up to Senior Nationals and even Olympic Trials. Click here to view the Time Standards on USA Swimming page.

Set your goals high and keep working until you meet them!

*Speedo Sectionals qualifying times may vary meet-to-meet.
