Mary Bradbury

Head Masters Coach

Email

Mary started competing in swimming at the age of 4 and remains passionate about the sport. Representing Moline High School, she won the Illinois High School state title in the 200 free (1:52.4) and placed 2nd in the 100 free (52.0). Mary swam on full-ride scholarship at the University of Illinois and was team captain her senior year. She has been coaching and teaching private lessons to children and adults for over 25 years and is also the founder of Bradbury Fitness, a multisport coaching service.

Mary is very involved in triathlon. In September 2006, she represented the U.S. at the World Triathlon Championships (olympic distance) in Lausanne, Switzerland and in 2009, she placed 8th in her age group at World Champs in Australia. Good seasons in 2010-2013 allowed her to qualify for the World Championships in Beijing, New Zealand, London, and Edmonton as well as the half-ironman World Championships in Clearwater November in '10 where she placed 9th.  But her biggest loves are her identical twin girls, and her dog Payton, who her daughters named after Walter Payton.
