About Us

ORGANIZATION
Illinois Swimming, Inc. (ISI) is one of 59 Local Swimming Committees (LSC's) under United States Swimming, Inc. (USA Swimming or USA-S) with jurisdiction over the sport of swimming in Illinois (with the exception of Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Madison, St. Claire, Monroe, Jackson and Vermilion counties).  As delegated to it as a LSC by USA Swimming, ISI oversees and conducts swimming programs, consistent with ISI's objectives and those of USA Swimming, in accordance with its Bylaws, USA Swimming Rules and Regulations and all applicable policies and procedures.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The primary goals and objectives of ISI shall be to educate, instruct and train individuals to develop and improve their capabilities in the sport of swimming.  ISI shall promote swimming for the benefit of athletes of all ages and abilities, in accordance with the standards, rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Federation Internationale de Natation Amateur (FINA), USA Swimming, and ISI under its Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.

INSURANCE
USA Swimming, ISI, all USA Swimming member clubs and USA Swimming registered athletes and non-athletes are provided general liability insurance for specific activities. In addition, registered athletes and non-athletes are provided secondary accident medical insurance. BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETINGS
Board of Directors meetings are usually held either by conference call or face-to-face. All meetings are open to the ISI swimming community unless otherwise directed by the General Chair.  For information about the next scheduled meeting, please refer to the events schedule for LSC Calendar or contact the ISI office.

ISI OFFICE
Illinois Swimming maintains a permanent office. All USA Swimming sanctioned meets, non-USA approved meets, registration (athlete and non-athlete), applications for all ISI sponsored events, and meet results are handled through the office. For more information, please contact the ISI Office.
