Welcome to the Performance Training Group Page!!
Performance Group (lane space for 24-32 swimmers)– qualified swimmers will train to compete at the highest level possible in a mature manner that displays a self-motivated and disciplined group of athletes working to improve stroke efficiency with an increased aerobic workload. Swimmers in the 8thgrade will also find this preparation beneficial as their last step in the progression to Senior swimming.
- BBSC Team Qualities: show the maturity and self-discipline necessary to promote additional BULLDOG characteristics throughout the Team and Community such as a drive for success, leadership, sportsmanship, positive mental attitude, Team support, as well as a competitive nature inclusive of individual and Team goal setting.
- Parents are required to work two sessions per swimmer at every BBSC hosted invitational meet, with a max limit of 4 sessions per meet per family, regardless of swimmer participation in the meet.
- Practice Attendance is expected on a regular basis, along with proper training equipment and water bottles.
- Meet Participation: routinely represent Brownsburg Swim Club in a positive manner at all scheduled meets, including travel meets or competition for Team Indiana, with proper preparation while also providing great examples of leadership and encouragement for our younger Bulldog swimmers.
Training and Performance Guidelines
Equipment Needs: Water bottle, practice suit, mesh bag, pull buoy, paddles, goggles, fins, snorkel and cap.
Practice Attendance: Practices are typically offered six times per week, when there are no meets or other overriding conflicts. The coaches anticipate your swimmer's attendance for both swimming and dryland. Training plans are based on a regular attendance schedule. Swimmers not maintaining at least an 85% overall attendance level or not swimming year round may be assigned to a different training group.
Indiana Swimming Representation:Swimmers qualifying for Zones, Quad Team, Select Camps, etc. are expected to participate when eligible for these programs. Swimmers are also encouraged to attend available Stroke Clinics Swim Camps as well. i.e.: Memorial Day Catch the Spirit Camp as they will find the experience and benefits of being surrounded by others of similar motivation and dedication to the sport to be very rewarding in their career development.

Training Philosophy: Practices are meant to be both fun and challenging. We know this works when our swimmers want to be at practice and are also showing signs of improvement at meets after regular attendance.Brownsburg Swim Club looks to provide the best coaching, training and learning environment for our swimmers as they grow through the age group progressions of our swimming program. The training is also geared towards preparing swimmers to enter the Senior Dogs group. Coaches will use their discretion in their daily practices to ensure areas of need are being addressed, especially depending on the phases of the training season, and that the fun time is also balanced in among the challenge sets. To this point, dryland activities are a great time for the swimmers to build friendships with one another, learn responsibility and leadership as well as to promote a positive and competitive team environment.
Saturday practices are traditionally challenging so we want to establish this notion early. Bulldog Swimmers should be encouraged to challenge themselves and understand that Saturdays aren’t something to be feared, but looked forward to and as a methodology for better equipping our swimmers for the long-term competitive racing side of the sport.
