Our mission is to teach elite swimming skills while building leadership, focus, and self esteem in a team environment.
We pride ourselves in teaching each athlete that comes in the door, not just exceptional swimming technique, but also team, leadership, and self esteem skills. We believe that family and school come first. That is why we have no minimum practice requirement. Swimmers learn how to build their own drive to perform at their very best. This drive, goal setting, and their individual accountability propel our swimmers to achieve great accomplishments both individually and as a team. During the 2014-2015 swimming season, we were 5th in the open water state meet, top 30 at the age group state meet, and NCISC Conference champions. We had multiple individuals with times in the top 200 in the nation for individual ages and top 10 in the state.
Leadership and mental toughness are not just things that the coaches talk about, but things that are taught. We have class each week where we focus on these skills. Over the last year we have been learning techniques and lessons from a program by Alan Goldberg one of the nations top mental training experts. You can see some of his material at www.competitivedge.com. We take an active approach to mental training and leadership skill building because these tools will help all children and young adults wherever their future lives take them.
We hope that you consider being a part of the Elkhart United Aquatics family.
